Can I dectect EWR radar with HTS?

They all show as S on the HAD and RWR.

Yeah, it probably makes more sense to label the P-19 as 'FF' (for Flat Face) rather than 'S', while the P-19 has been used (albeit more rarely compared to other types) as a general purpose EWR (appropriate for the 'S' label), it's most common application is as a target acquisition radar for the SA-3.

Last I checked it also doesn't have an EWR task available, nor is IADS functionality present in the DCS core (which are what you'll mostly find EWRs being used for IRL).

The P-19 is a NATO C band radar, operating around 830 - 882 MHz,

The 1L13 and 55G6 are both NATO A band radars operating below 250 MHz - it's certainly possible that the HTS and the HARM sensors cannot detected frequencies this low.

Just read article, although I enjoyed it, I also noticed that they their focus was on DEAD against SAM batteries, with practically no HARM being in use. Even more the attacks on integrated air defense network was actually not a scope, where the majority of ERW assets would be located. Some of these SAMs do however have search radars but in GHz ranges. So while interesting this example is not much relevant in the topic.

Although they mostly knew the position they still had to verify every threat and as EWR provides a lot of SA they were targeted early on which actually put them under lots of SAM pressure. They did use F-4G and F-16C but they served the same purpose of deteriorating their SAM network and taking out high value EW assets.

 

Yes…but you put in the caveat already: „they mostly knew the position“…whereas we were talking about finding them from scratch.

The Viper RWR is WIP at the moment. Expect a lot of new/changed functions for the Viper RWR in one of the next OB updates.
