Desktop freeze

Hey, after the latest update i'm having an issue where on launch dcs is running, but only my desktop screen is shown. I cant use the ctrl shift esc command to open task manager, but alt ctrl del does work and this then brings up DCS. whilst desktop is showing no mouse movements are detectable and no other key commands seem to work (almost as if pc is frozen) but the title music is playing in the background. Not had this issue previously and i havent installed any other software on the pc, nor do i have any active TP mods. Log file is included and my pc is R7 3700x, gtx1660 super, 32gb 3200mhz ram, and 2Tb ssd (iirc)

Hi. Please try this:

1. Go to "Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config"
2. Rename "options.lua" to "options.lua.bak".
3. Start DCS.

I've been having this issue too.  The way I deal with it is to have another program open, and then alt+tab to get to DCS.

I'm on Windows 11, non-steam version.

I have that issue too. Only when I start OB for the first time after starting the computer. I don't have that issue when I start OB for second time etc. Only once after a fresh start of the pc. I can only get into the game in that situation by CTRALTDEL. Not with alt tab. It just stay on the windows desktop an nothing response to the mouse. It freezes more or less. I hear the music playing. Strange situation. Never had that before. I tried with the option options.lua.bak as Flappie suggested. But then I will loose all my settings. That is less briljant. Is there another option. I can copy/past from the lua bak file. But what brings the problem in the lua file that is the question. Please some assistance.

Please attach your options.lua file. I'll see if I can find what's wrong.

okay here it is. I hope you can find something. I also used my options.lua file from the DCS stable. But same problem as well.

Try disabling the Fullscreen option.

Yes that is the solution. Problem gone. But  strange that you can start with the full screen. There is no difference so I will keep it that way for the time being. Thank Flappie for your help

You're welcome. The Fullscreen option has always "worked" like this: I never saw a difference betwee enabled and disabled.

However, I have no idea why suddenly the game startup gets broken for some users when Fullscreen is enabled.
