Taruk Makto Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 How do you light up the carrier lights for the vessel number. Is it automatic or keyboard switch? I can't get it to work. Like this... Can be forced via liveries tho: DCS_Lighted_island_hull_number_240922-1.zip Dima | My DCS uploads
Nealius Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Should come on whenever the carrier is in night CASE III conditions, which should be 30 minutes prior to sunset until 30 minutes after sunrise.
Taruk Makto Posted September 24, 2022 Author Posted September 24, 2022 Sweet. That works nice Minsky. Thanks for your help. Lenovo Legion 5 Pro - AMD Ryzen 7 5800h - NVIDIA 3070 - 32 GB RAM - 1TB SSD - Mi 27" monitor - Titan Wolf Hotas
Taruk Makto Posted September 24, 2022 Author Posted September 24, 2022 Thanks Nealius. I tried to get it to work using several different times. Is it only case III due to night landing? I made a custom category 3 hurricane "Case IV" mission with max wind speeds and cross winds, but the lights don't come on even though the mission time is 9:30pm. Everything else lights up fine. The carrier is Roosevelt CVN 71. Lenovo Legion 5 Pro - AMD Ryzen 7 5800h - NVIDIA 3070 - 32 GB RAM - 1TB SSD - Mi 27" monitor - Titan Wolf Hotas

They may use it on special occasions, but normally it's off. A lot of exposure for no practical effect. 1 Dima | My DCS uploads

It's like a big "Eat at Joe's" sign out there in the pitch black. 1 DO it or Don't, but don't cry about it. Real men don't cry!

I recall the other carriers being lit up for a lot longer at night. Talking DCS-specific observations here. No clue what they do IRL.

I just wanted to have them on for film making purposes. The livery solution works well enough for this purpose. 1 Lenovo Legion 5 Pro - AMD Ryzen 7 5800h - NVIDIA 3070 - 32 GB RAM - 1TB SSD - Mi 27" monitor - Titan Wolf Hotas
