How do you light up the carrier lights for the vessel number. Is it automatic or keyboard switch? I can't get it to work.

Thanks Nealius. I tried to get it to work using several different times. Is it only case III due to night landing? I made a custom category 3 hurricane "Case IV" mission with max wind speeds and cross winds, but the lights don't come on even though the mission time is 9:30pm. Everything else lights up fine. The carrier is Roosevelt CVN 71.

Should come on whenever the carrier is in night CASE III conditions

No, not really. They may use it on special occasions, but normally it's off. A lot of exposure for no practical effect.

To be honest, the lights are only used in-port. They should never be on for flight operations, nor did we turn them on at sea. It's like a big "Eat at Joe's" sign out there in the pitch black.

DO it or Don't, but don't cry about it. Real men don't cry!

I forgot this was the Forrestal. The lights only come on when somebody's landing during CASE III, but not for long. I recall the other carriers being lit up for a lot longer at night. Talking DCS-specific observations here. No clue what they do IRL.

I just wanted to have them on for film making purposes. The livery solution works well enough for this purpose.

I don't even have the Forrestal in my carrier list (latest DCS Open Beta).
