Can't see how Air-to-Air weapons radar RSET button works

How does the RSET button work on the Hornet Air-to-Air radar?

As I understand it - as per the manual P 345 - if I've changed the settings, e.g. # of bars, azimuth angle, etc., for a particular weapon then pressing the RSET will bring them back to default for that weapon.

I can't get it to work.

i thought it undesignates L&S.

i havent noticed any other effect.

The manual extract seems quite clear to me. It should reset the weapon profile. 
I’ll raise a bug report tomorrow, as I don’t think it’s doing what it should.

The manual seems outdated on this one. Reset is not used to reset the radar settings for the current weapon. It's used to:
Clear the L&S and DT2 target designations.
Clear any trackfile ranking biases and resume normal trackfile ranking.
Unbox the HITS option in TWS.
It should also return the L&S to the highest ranked trackfile in TWS (TWS should always have an L&S and ranking should not be affected by designation, but this doesn't work in DCS now).
Exit TWS BIAS, SCAN RAID and EXP.

Yes, it does all that, but if it doesn't reset the weapon settings, then how do we do that?

For example, if settings were applied using the SET button for certain circumstances, how do we get the weapon back to its defaults?

I am not home and I cannot verify myself but have you tried switching off and on the radar?

Just set them back to the defaults and press SET again, no? You normally wouldn't want your weapon sets changed once set, so I'm not aware of any way to do this besides just setting them again.

Or you can cycle the generators to give the jet the "slap" (but this will reset everything)

So, firstly try to remember all the settings for each weapon type, and then manually change them all?  Is that what you are suggesting?

I don't think this is a weird question.  Both the ED manual - see OP - and Chuck's Guide - attached - say that this resets to radar defaults in RDR ATTK mode, so at worst, it must have worked this way at some point recently.
