pitbull Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I need help with this. It's not my first attempt at profiling my G15 for sims, but it's the first time I run into a stubborn sim that won't see my key bindings......:joystick: I'm trying to bind to bottom left most G keys, to replicate the dispenser using macros so I assign the DEL key to the G16, acting as the "STOP Dispensing" function. DCS won't even see that when testing in the controls page of the sim. Same thing with the "Number of flares in seq"; binding RCtrl-Ins to the G13 key won't cut it. DCS won't see it. The keystrokes are seen correctly when testing in the profiler. i tought that using the french canadian keyboard was the reason why, as the "[" was seen as "¸" by the profiler. So I switched to the US layout for both programing and flying, didn't work either. I tried letting the modifiers release before the actual keystroke, didn't work. I also tried assigning the binding as a keystroke vice a macro, no luck either. profiler is up to date with the latest version downloaded today. :helpsmilie: MOBO ASUS P5QL-Pro, Intel Q9550 2.8Ghz @ 3.5 GHZ, 8GB DDR2 Crucial, XFX HD6950, TM Warthog, TIR4 /w Pro-Clip, 24 In Samsung Syncmaster LED, 2 X Cheapo 8in LCD's for MFD's and TM MFCD's attached to it, Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
Acedy Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I'm using the profiler for my G11 and it is worling fine in BS. Check if the profiler runs with the same user rights as BS, i.e. admin if you start BS as admin. Btw, the old G11/15 keyboards are simply perfect for BS, I have mapped the ABRIS, autopilot and datalink buttons to one group of G-keys respectively, really handy. Will confirm the admin rights, not sure 100% Good idea for AP and DL, I was looking at a way to fill up the rest of the G15 keys.... Now I only have to make it work... MOBO ASUS P5QL-Pro, Intel Q9550 2.8Ghz @ 3.5 GHZ, 8GB DDR2 Crucial, XFX HD6950, TM Warthog, TIR4 /w Pro-Clip, 24 In Samsung Syncmaster LED, 2 X Cheapo 8in LCD's for MFD's and TM MFCD's attached to it, Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
pitbull Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 Well, I tried your suggestion and started the profiler with the admin rights, no joy. I mapped the AP to other G keys, no change. I t looks like BS is not picking up the keystrokes sent by the macros, or only portion of the macro, ie.: If I try, by hand in the BS controller page, let's say LSHift B, for bank dampener, it is picked up correctly. if I hit the G key with the same keystrokes in the macro, BS sees the keystroke as only B, no modifiers.... I had this bug too, when running the profiler under administrator vice my usual user name.. pitbull Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 After much $?%&$%?&*$%? around, I finally got it working. When recording the macro, make sure to also record the delays between key strokes, otherwise BS doesn't pick-up the whole thing.... easy fix, and now I feel stupid I didn't tought of that before.. pit MOBO ASUS P5QL-Pro, Intel Q9550 2.8Ghz @ 3.5 GHZ, 8GB DDR2 Crucial, XFX HD6950, TM Warthog, TIR4 /w Pro-Clip, 24 In Samsung Syncmaster LED, 2 X Cheapo 8in LCD's for MFD's and TM MFCD's attached to it, Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
TimA Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Thanks pitbull. It is an easy fix but I didn't think of it either. I can program all sorts of things to the G-keys now. I edited the delays to 0.01s and it works fine so far.
Jagr Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 For those of us with G15's and too lazy to do the programming, could you post the profile?
TimA Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 OK here's mine, bear in mind I have the new-style G15 with only 6 G-keys. I've got it set so that mode 1 hits the number buttons on the PVI (for easy waypoint switching) M1 G1: PVI Pushbutton 1 M1 G2: PVI Pushbutton 2 etc Mode 2 is for the UV-26 countermeasures dispenser M2 G1: Toggles dispensing board switch, left/both/right M2 G2: Toggles switch for counter/programming M2 G3: Number of flare sequences button M2 G4: Number of flares in sequence button M2 G5: Flare interval button M2 G6: Reset program button Mode 3 I was running out of ideas, so set up for weapons mode selection and HUD modes M3 G1: Toggle weapons Man/Auto M3 G2: Weapon mode switch (Long/Medium/Short) M3 G3: Cannon round selector M3 G4: Cannon rate-of-fire selector M3 G5: HUD mode selector M3 G6: HUD filter If you can think of any better buttons to have for the 6-key 3-mode operation, I'm all ears! I'd have liked to set up the datalink on one mode, but there simply aren't enough buttons!Black Shark.rar
pitbull Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 once I get home, I will post mine. I have 4 dampeners, the DH/DTA switch, the RAD/Baro alt and the entire UV-26 are programmed in there in mode 1. Jagr Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 How did you create that profile? How do you get the "left/Right" modifiers for Shift or Alt etc.? Are you writing them in Lua or using something to create them more simply?
pitbull Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 How did you create that profile? How do you get the "left/Right" modifiers for Shift or Alt etc.? Are you writing them in Lua or using something to create them more simply? If you are referring to my post, I did all the programming within the logitech profiler itself. The modifiers are recognized by the profiler, except for the right alt, which causes it to crash. Known bug though. A quick work around this, is to program as a left alt, open it with notepad, find the entries and change the LALT to a RALT. TimA Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 (edited) Yeah, I just used to profiler too. Quite simple to use, create a new macro, make sure it is recording delays, then afterwards I edited the delays to 0.01s by right-clicking. That's strange though, pitbull, the RAlt key works fine on my profiler. Is that a bug on the 12 G-key G15? edit: VVV yes, thanks, I meant 18-key. Cheers. Edited January 24, 2009 by TimA

I have the "old" 18 G Keys, the first gen that came out. if you read in the firsts post, somebody else experienced the same bug. anyhow, here is my profile. It's a bit messy, ie.: there is some un-used key commands in there, and teh G18 is programmed to center my Free Track ( Shift F12). I didn't edit the delays down to 0.01 sec, yet anyway.. too tired now.
