bart Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 (edited) In 2.7 the engine feathering worked like a charm. Today I just tried to feather the engine, both sides one at a time and noticed the same behaviour on both. I close the throttle, bring the rpm control lever all the way back on the engine to be feathered. Press the feathering button just long enough for it to stay in, and release. The prop begins to feather, the button springs out then the prop returns to the un-feathered position as soon as it's feathered, and the engine continues to windmill. This happens regardless of magneto switch position (off/on), on both engines. Basically, you can't feather the engines now. grafspee Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 I think you need to hold feather button till rpm on engine drops below certain value, iirc it was 700rpm, if this does not work, then probably some buggy buggy came in :P System specs: I7 14700KF, Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite, 64GB DDR4 3600MHz, Gigabyte RTX 4090,Win 11, 48" OLED LG TV + 42" LG LED monitor
Terry Dactil Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 It's a bug. I I have the same problem and cannot feather either engine. The feather button does not stick in as it should when pressed. The prop starts to feather while the button is held pressed in, but immediate starts unfeathering if the button is released. (I guess the appropriate authority will have to ground all Mosquitos until this problem is fixes, as they are no longer airworthy).
Night Owl Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Thanks for reporting, we will test this out. So in all cases this was without damage before the feathering? 1 1
grafspee Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 (edited) No damage, prop at beginning is feathering but at point where should stop rotating, it comes back to normal operation. Track included. Feathering.trk On 10/30/2022 at 9:57 PM, Terry Dactil said: The feather button does not stick in as it should when pressed. Thing is that for feathering you push it and prop will feather, once feather is done button should pop out, If you want unfeather prop you push feathering button again and hold it until prop get above 800rpm then release button. So if for feather button it is working as should, but somehow prop spins up once it get close to stop.
