Switch Positions

Probably an obvious reason, but I seem to remember years ago the AC GEN, Boost Pumps and Eng Fuel Flow switches were always in the off position and I had to flick them when starting up. Now these are always in the On positions (making the ENG FUEL FLOW switches on my TMWH throttle a bit redundant?)

Same for both A10C and A10C II

The changes were made to reflect how the jet should be when the pilot arrives at the jet to accept it from maintenance.

Thought something had changed a while back but only noticed it recently. So i can bind those 2 Warthog swtiches to something else as i wont really need them

I don’t think the fuel flow switches have ever been accurately modeled. IRL they are there for an emergency when you need more thrust at the expense of overheating your engine. Like if you lose an engine on takeoff and you need more power to get away from the ground. Playing around with it in DCS I haven’t noticed any difference if the fuel flows are norm or override.

TLDR: you can probably bind those controls to something else.

The L and R ENG FUEL FLOW switches have NORM and OVERRIDE positions; I don't think they were ever modelled to be in OVERRIDE when starting cold and dark, and so you were always free to map them to something else. 😉

And yeah, I have never seen an appreciable difference in any of the the engine parameters when setting either of these switches to the OVERRIDE position.

Other than that, like ASAP said, ED received feedback that crew chiefs set the other switches you mentioned before handing the jets over to the pilots, and so the cold and dark default positions were changed to reflect real life operations.
