Raviar Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 I believe AI doing really wrong even worst than before in some certain setups! I setup multiple run with F-5 against MiG-29A, in all sorties the Fulcrum either crashed to the ground! or running away(he seem tired to pull Gs!) or I could stay comfortably in his 6! just to be clear, the AI set to ACE, there were not any AWACS available, only two planes and I was doing really bad! and here is tacviews 04_Tacview.zip.acmi 03_Tacview.zip.acmi 02_Tacview.zip.acmi 01_Tacview.zip.acmi 1
Dragon1-1 Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Extending is a good tactic if you get slow against the F-5 when flying a MiG-29. That, or it hit bingo and tried to RTB, which happens fast in a MiG. Not sure about crashing into the ground thing, I didn't see it so far, but the AI might require tuning. Before, the AI was outright cheating, but had a very limited moveset. Now it's vastly improved on that front. That doesn't necessarily mean more challenging, particularly with planes that outrageously cheated before.
Raviar Posted November 4, 2022 Author Posted November 4, 2022 the file called 01... fulcrum ejected on 02, I hit the 29 hand he decided RTB witch I landed with him on 03, fulcrum pilot ejected Ah, I didnt attached the ground collision ! i will do it
Lt_Jaeger Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 AI running into the ground is a thing. Tried 4 Mig21 vs 1 F-14 and ended up with 3 maneuver kills and one AIM 9. The guys were very good in defeating missiles though. 2 - 2 - 1 wasted.
MARLAN_ Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Aside from the AI crashing into the ground seemingly quite frequently, they are in my opinion, much better than before... that's not to say it can't use more improvements, they still make a lot of poor decisions, but at least they perform what resembles BFM compared to before. I'm very happy with the update, and look forward to future refinement. TheFreshPrince Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 I like to fly guns only dogfights against AI at ace level for training and I find it more challenging than before. I also found that they now like to crash into the ground more often (even at fights above the sea). I can still kill them although I'm not very good, except the F-16. The F-16 at ace level seems unbeatable to me, it's just flying perfectly around you at high speeds until you make 1 little mistake.
Capn kamikaze Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 I've been setting up some F-14 vs F-5 (Mig-28) stuff, and I've noticed they seem to hit the ground a lot, and they jink for ever, and never seem to blackout or get tired.

After initial turn, point your nose at him and build your a/s 30 ~ 50 kts above corner (in case you got your nose on him too quick, which in some situations might be a good idea). If the Viper is turning back toward you, try to turn inside of him, never loosing sight of him, then... snapshot!! Be careful not to pull ahead of him too much and if he reverses... go up and barrel roll into him. You can out-scissor him easy Well, that's just one little scenario that worked well for me with ai. They do some 'other' stuff occasionally so, you might have to be patient or even let him run of of gas if they play their energy card too much. That's ai... against live, experienced gunfighters, that might be a bit harder. There is another bag of tricks to use. Might work... takes a lot of practice.
