Steel Jaw Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 For some reason I lost my alignment in the air on mission, how can my INS be realigned please? "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB.

Land Input coordinates of your parking position into WP0 Perform a new alignment 1 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

If you just have accumulated some INS drift, then you can do a nav fix on the HSI page. IIRC the button was labeled "UPDT" and is on the bottom row. This is still WIP though AFAIK. Fromthedeep Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 The INS dumping was definitely not a thing that happened when I actively flew the Hornet. Is this a new feature (simulated failure) or a bug?

Solution Hulkbust44 Posted November 6, 2022 Solution Posted November 6, 2022 Oh thats no good. No other options from in the air?TACAN fix, GPS IFA (and radar PVU but that's not modeled)Flip to IFA and if there's GPS it will be fixed in some 10min. 2

There may be some miscommunication here I'm afraid. INS 'dumping' or actual INS failure is a malfunction that can happen to real aircraft. As I'm not an actual pilot, I've also never encountered that in real life, but there are plenty of first hand accounts of this happening. There's also a very harrowing tale in the Approach magazine about this happening to a Charlie Hornet pilot near the boat at night. This has never happened to me in DCS, but I haven't flown the Hornet in quite a while, which is why I asked if this is a new failure being simulated or a bug or perhaps user error. Hope this cleared up the misunderstanding. Edited November 7, 2022 by Fromthedeep
