Modified DCS Version - only background images / music changed

I'd like to exchange some background screens and the menu sound (music) by my own graphics and sound. Unfortunately, the game marks my dcs as modified. That's correct, but this changes doesn't effect any multiplayer game - these are no mods, affecting the game in balancing. So it would be great, if replacing the the background images and menu music, doesn't lead to a modified version mark, that bans me from joining some multiplayer servers.

Thanks!

Seems that you didn't make use of the Custom Theme facility that DCS has, where you place the custom Theme at /Saved Games/, instead you modified the files on the DCS program folder. Here is a Guide on this feature, old but it is still valid:

On my DCS, it looks like this:

The custom Theme is enabled here:

Here you can see that my IC is green:

and I can connect to a Server that requires green IC:

The only downside of this User Theme facility, is that you can only define one. To circumvent this, I use a ModManager to easily select amongst several custom Themes, like this:

This doesn't impact the IC, because the destination files are at /Saved Games/

🙂

Ok, where did you get that really nice image for the Viggens from? So much better than DCS's own. Is it public domain?

Not sure if it is public domain or not, I got it from here:

(image is inverted, flip it on an image editor)
