Add Waypoint Outside Sequence?

This must be a stupid question, but all the YouTube videos about adding a waypoint that I've found so far add the waypoint to a sequence (HSI->Data->WPSEQUFC->INS...).  How do I just add a waypoint in to the navigation system outside of a sequence?  I'm think about if I were to add a JTAC target, or a specific IP, etc.

Make sure you don't have a SEQ boxed. Select any free wypt using the arrows. Press DATA, press UFC, press POSITION. Typ N (i.e "2") then 6 digits, ENT, then E (i.e "6") then 6 more digits. Then press ENT again. If you want, press ELEVATION, select FEET and input amount of feet. Press ENT.

First of all you have 3 flight plan which is SEQ1 SEQ2 and SEQ3.

You should be able too see all waypoints if none of them are boxed.

If you want to add a waypoint to spesific SEQ.You need to box it and then HSI>DATA>WPSEQUFC>INSERT>"waypoint number"

I think he wants add a WPT in a middle of a SEQ.

i.e. SEQ1 is 01-02-03-04-05. Is it possible to insert a new wpt (i.e.06) between 03 and 04?  (01-02-03-06-04-05)?

IF you enter a WP ALREADY IN the SEQ, it will add the new WP into SEQ after that WP.  So if you took the original SEQ1 you suggested, INS(ert) 3, then INS(ert) 6 you should get the second sequence you suggested in SEQ1.

There are a couple of other things to consider.

  1. Are you using DMS (Degrees, Minutes, Seconds) or DDM (Degrees, Decimal-Minutes eg 34° 14.2143'), or MGRS in which case without Precision Northing and Easting are each 3 digits, while with Precision Northing and Easting are each 5 digits.
  2. If you are entering a WP you will use as a target, you MUST enter the altitude, otherwise your targeting will suffer from the parallax effect, which can force your aim off my maybe a hundred by a hundred yrds, (the greater the altitude, the greater the parallax effect.
  3. Set Precision: HSI -> Data  OSB button B2 (bottom, second from left) Press to box and unbox Precision. Boxed is high Precision.
  4. Select between DMS and DDM. HSI -> DATA -> A/C (T1), R5 to toggle between SEC and DCM. SEC=DMS, DCML=DDM.

When you hit the wrong button on take-off
