macedk Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Backstory: A.C.E. on C64 was my first sim. Idea: Frag it, bring my pc to a place and present a flying experience to a bunch of people that would love it but have no xp. I'll go out on a lim and tech it and present it, why ? I need a boost and this is the wildest (that I can control) I can think of. So far my main concern is placing the trackir in the right place. The setup will involve a projector setup. Where the hell do i put the sensor ? Trackir is the thing for this one so no clever work arounds please :) So far, I have not presented the idea, I have no clue if the people will embrace it. Who are the people you are presenting to ? we are on welfare with different backgrounds, I'm one of them but with a different background that allow me to do this. I've done flightsims for a decade and some. Time to own up and share. About me: Scared <profanity>less but love making people happy and sharing a laugh is the best medicine. this is just my take on it. I'm ok at this sim stuff why not make something of it. Oh <profanity>...it is on now go deliver....welcome to my world . But I'm friggin trying . Hiob Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Perhaps you can put the sensor behind the player (wearing the cap like a douche ) and reverse the axis in game. "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
Mars Exulte Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 Nothing wrong with that. Tbh, simming is the only way most of us will experience military aircraft, and only a few of us will get to experience flight in a civvie context. Sims are a good way to give people a taste of life they might not normally ever get. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
Kang Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 If you don't need to use the cap, in other words, if you have an IR-LED-array clipped to your headset, for example, you have the advantage of gaining a bit of field of view on the ol' TrackIR. You could then just put it in front of your projector, set atop (or if you are fancy: somewhere within) your instruments, disguised like a HUD camera.
scommander2 Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 I guess this video from Youtube will not help because he placed TrackIR at his console right side. He has another video that he puts TrackIR on the center of the top projector screen, but the video is older the link provided above.
