SmeagleGoneWild Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Dynamic weather in mission editor only generates the winds, nothing else. I’ve tried several different variations of climates that would cause clouds and even rain sometimes, no joy. If this works for you, please do share the formula you’re using and I will gladly replicate it. I know someone will ask me the same, and I’ve honestly tried so many variations that I just didn’t keep track. I will say that I dropped the qnh, created a low pressure system, and tried several Pa deviations to try to get it to knock. Not a single cloud in the sky. The presets work though lol, great too, look fantastic. What I would like out of dynamic is the possibility that the weather will be different then where I took off, I’d like to click generate next time I play and get an even different experience than last. 1 Ryzen 7 5800x w/ PBO on, RTX 3070ti w/ OC, 32 GB RAM @3000 | Quest 2, Virpil Joystick, Throttle, and Rudder
Ironhand Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 You’re right. Clouds are no longer generated in dynamic weather. Don’t know if this was planned as a prelude to something new or a bug. 1 YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU1...CR6IZ7crfdZxDg _____ Win 11 Pro x64, Asrock Z790 Steel Legend MoBo, Intel i7-13700K, MSI RKT 4070 Super 12GB, Corsair Dominator DDR5 RAM 32GB.
HR-Crumble Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 I haven’t seen any difference in any of the 2.8 weather versus 2.7….

With static weather its noticeable they move when you put some speed in the air, problem is that weather is the same throughout the entire map. The OP is referring to weather generated via the Dynamic Weather tab. Something there has definitely changed in that, while it still generates wind patterns that move across the map, clouds are no longer generated. Toumal Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 Same, I tried a dozen different weather systems and the result is always clear sky with varying amounts of wind.
RedRabbit_61 Posted November 19, 2022 Posted November 19, 2022 I've notice that in trying to create weather systems in the dynamic weather tab the first cyclone is all but un-editable. You really can't move it, change its size or strength. I've played with the dynamic weather for quite some time and have even written a tutorial on it, but now it just seams broken.

Linx Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 +1 Dynamic weather tab does not work. No clouds are generated, no matter the settings.
RedRabbit_61 Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 The static weather tab and dynamic weather tab are two different systems and are not interlinked. They've added some "dynamics" to the static weather by allowing the clouds to move when the wind is set high enough. I think most people are confusing that with the dynamic weather tab. However in static weather you select the weather for the entire map and it doesn't really change as you fly across the region. In dynamic weather there needs to be a little understanding of how highs and lows interact to create weather. Depending on where you place the highs and lows changes the wind speed, direction and clouds in different parts of the map. And where the highs and lows overlap can be some really dramatic weather. However right now the dynamic weather tab does seam to be broken as I stated earlier the first system "high or low" can't really be moved or manipulated. It used to work but took some effort to get what you wanted. Some time back I created a "Shamal" on the Persian Gulf map where there was a sandstorm in the UAE while it was clear and slightly windy in Iran. I was actually realistic enough to give me a little PTSD having been through a few of them in the PG. 1
