Tomcat-Flyer Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 (edited) In my opinion the current water transparency watervisibility is too high, as you can see in the screenshot below. In real-life you couldn't even see the fuselage of the ship a few feet below the water surface. I hope ED will change the transparency visibility soon, so that DCS gets another step closer to what real life looks like. Edited November 29, 2022 by Tomcat-Flyer 7

Hiob Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 @Tomcat-Flyer You're right. And so is Draconus. Maybe you want to edit your thread title to make it a bit clearer and more people may support your wish. Tomcat-Flyer Posted December 18, 2022 Author Posted December 18, 2022 I've found out, how to change the water transparency: In the 'DCS World\Mods\terrains\Caucasus\terrain.cfg.lua' you can set a value for 'seaOpacity', in my case I've used 10 for instance. This gives you this output. Sadly there is no way to change this parameter in the Marianas file, since it is crypted (I don't own other maps so I don't know about theirs). 1

winghunter Posted May 15, 2024 Posted May 15, 2024 (edited) Transparency is still too high, it freaks me out in VR, to see this much of the underside of ships Edited May 15, 2024 by winghunter 1 DCS Web Editor - New 3D Mission Editor for DCS that runs in your browser DCS Web Viewer free browser based mission planner 4090 RTX, 13700KF, water cooled, Quest 3
