New Graphics card but game crashes at start

I was just lucky to get a new graphics card but my game crashes at start.

my game kept crashing at launch, before I got into the menu.. right while loading the game. I update my nvidia drivers. Did a DCS repair.

after a restart, Only ONCE was I able to get in game, and it was awesome. 180FPS in the FA18 fre flight missions etc..

I changed settings twice, and after the second restart of the game (for chaning the visibility to extreme, and then back to ultra) the game now keeps crashing and I am unable to launch it anymore.

Can you help me out with this log ?  Should I uninstall all my display drivers again ? which would be a pain, because I also use the USB drivers for my Winwin MIP) I dont understand why the game  didnt work, then worked and couple of time, and then didnt work anymore...

anyone able to help me out from this log ? thanks a lot !

Hi. It looks like a driver issue. Try uinstalling your graphics driver using DDU, then install a fresh one.

You should also try to reset your NVIDIA GPU settings:

thanks a lot. Will try asap

EDIT: that did it ! thank you !

May I ask what you exactly did? I have the exact same problem with random crashes with my Asus RTX 3080 TUF. Those crashes can come almost at once but also after an hour. Have tried several different drivers. I have also followed almost every suggestion how to fix this issue but without any progress. My old RTX 2080Ti and GTX1080 works flawlessly both in my and my son’s deaktop.

my game was crashing after I replaced my EVGA RTX 3090 with a Gigabyte RTX 4090. it crashed at launch shortly after the auto login into DCS.

when I went from a 2080ti to a 3090 i didnt have too touch drivers. just swap the cards. I thought of doing the same.

I swapped the card and I was faced with the issue. I updated the drivers to the very latest version, to no avail. After that I also repaired DCS. No change.

Finally, I used DDU (diplay drivers uninstaller) in safe mode, to completely remove the Nvidia drivers from my system. Twice in row, and always in safe mode. making sure my computer had no access to internet while doing so. After that i installed the latest Nvidia drivers, and it has been working since then-.

Also, since I own the Winwing Mip with 3 small MFD screen that use display drivers, I also disconnected them for my drivers cleaning, and drivers installation. I also disconnected them the first time I launched DCS after doing all that.

I hope this helps. I cross fingers that it keeps working for me as well 😉

I have read elsewhere that for someone it was link to the power supplied to the GC. Are you sure your Power SUpply is powerful enough ? In nvidia drivers try switching the power supply to normal rather than maximum performance.

I always use DDU cleaner in safe mode. I have now also tried the latest driver (527.37) without any luck. DCS still crash randomly and I will get more warnings than before in the system log before the crash. I have an Corsair RM850-X PSU and my GPU seems to use around 350 watts at maximum during game play.

@FZG_Immel Glad I could help! 👍

@Aqua_HeaD Please create a new thread with your dcs.log file and your dxdiag log.

I will do that in the morning. I have already sent all the log files from every crash via the game itself so I belive Eagle Dynamics will have all the necessary information but I will do it manually as well so everyone can read it here.

Actually I don't, because I don't work at ED (otherwise, my nickname would be blue).

I know, the "ED Beta Testers" label can be misleading.
