solved PC restart

hi ,since i got my new PC ,my computer will shut down while im flying VR missions or Training 

 

this happend after 30-60 minutes randoomly ,even nothing explodes or i just fly over the sea

i got i7 12600k and 3080 nvidia with 850 W seasonic gold 32gb auf ram (2x 16)

 

i updated drivers and bios ,did nothing with overclock  or in bios (updated bios with software)

so my pc should be fine 

 

hope you can help me ,i wathced HW monitor = nothing is hot

i just made a benchmark with cyberpunk ,3dmark and FurMark ,all went fine ,i dont get it why my computer shut down/reboot after 30-60 minutes of DCS

Hi. What does you Windows Event Viewer says about these reboots? Please look into the System log.

You also need to check your system temperatures (HWmonitor can do this for you).

Last but not least, you should ensure your PC components are dust-free, especially your CPU and GPU fans.

Disable overclocking if you use it, that helped me. Fully disable.

@FlappieWEM shows nothing ,crash was 16:48 there is no message with crash at this time before or after ,i also turn auto restart off before cause this crashes happends many times since i got my new computer .But event manager dont show anything about crash

Also this PC is brand new so no dust - and like i said ,i watched HW Monitor ,its all fine ,maximum is 70° GPU and 50-60° CPU -if nothing happend like now its even 45° GPU and 27° CPU

@Brzi_Joei disable it with Nvidia debug mod ,cause i never overclock my GPU or CPU but it is a OC with 10% overclock by factory - even that dont work and crashed after about 60 minutes 

 

there is not stutter or lag ,the PC is so quiet and heat is perfect ,just randoom crash ,everything shutting down like i pressed the restart button .

30 minutes ago i realised that i got a second GPU (onboard ultra HD grafics) active -  i just disabled it in drivers menue ,but im too tired to try 1 hour of dcs tonight ,will try it tomorrow and hope it will work - maybe this second gpu was the problem . sry for my bad english

Sorry, I had not read the whole first post. Yes, internal GPU can sometimes cause issues. We'll wait for your feedback.

@Brzi_Joe thank you ! i dont test it but i thing this should be the reason : Seasonic recommended to use 2 PCI connectors at stead of 1 - i used always to put 1 6+2 in the PSU and 2 6+2 to the GPU ,i never could imagine using 2 connectors for 1 gpu - i hope this was the problem and i solve it ,will report after 1-2 days of testing it.

after 90 minutes of playing Campaign ,no crash so i thing and hope i solve it - thank you guys

1 more mission went also fine ,so i guess its solved .

Just to let you know ,this didnt solved my problem ,1 week ago it crashes again and pc shutting down (with message "shutting down") or goes to silent mode .Only in DCS ,even Cyber Punk 4k with full mods for grafik or RDR2 with 4k and mods doesnt crash. I watched the heat and all is fine ,my gpu was 100% in VR DCS with 71°C CPU 12%-20% with 42°C  Ram 75-82% with 43°C Usage of PSU was about 650-700W and i got 850 seasonic gold...Then i research the hole net .

now i played 3 hours ,no crashes - what i did is :

 

-Turn everything in device manager off ,witch can bring my hardware to shut down for energy(usb devices ,HP Reverb G2 ect. ) just everything in the device manager

-changed my powersettings to full perfomance and under edvance settings ,all to never shut down or perfomance -aalso all to 100% minimum

-check if all dll was correct installed - in cmd with "sfc /scannow"

-Vram to 16384 -min and max

 

i could play it now for 3 hours no crash and will report if it crash again

Still crashin... PC shutting down and goes to SILENT mode 

but finally the event manager show me something : The device 'HP Reverb Virtual Reality Headset G2' (location '00####') is offline due to a user driver failure. A network restart WILL be attempted 5 times. Contact the device manufacturer for more information about this issue.

if no other game crash (3xA title in 4k) ,all stress tests works fine all benchmark test works fine ,only dcs in vr crash no other vr title ,then i have to be sure something wrong with DCS and not my hardware .

The error clearly comes from your VR headset. DCS is very demanding resource-wise: it asks a lot, and for some reason, your G2 gets lost. It looks like a system issue.

ill try it tomorrow but ,my pc is new (01.12.22) and this problem is since day 1 so i wonder why this should be a driver problem , but ill give it a try

benchmarks only stress 1 of 2 components,

DCS Stresses both CPU and GPU especially in vr, if it powers off completely, then it's likely a power issue.

and what about playing cyberpunk in 4k with grafic mods - i played it for about 5-6 hours no crash ? not enough or is there a way to stress it more -exept of DCS ?

also HL ALYX and many more ,this just happends with DCS

I find this very strange. My experience with computers crashing is they either lock up and you need to cycle power, or they reboot themself.

Any chance DCS is pulling so much power the PSU flips out the power or sleep button was pressed?

Look ,it dont just crash , my VR goes black , i took it off and can see on my screen "Computer shutting down" ,but it doesnt ,it just goes to sleep (all the lights and fans still running ) and i need to press the power button to TRY it to wake up again ,sometimes its shuuting down after that - do i need 1000 W instead of 850 just for this hardware?

this is a good point i guess - DCS is the only game where i used all my USB devices and i got about 12
