Hey, Fellas. Quick question: Where exactly is the aircraft type (F-15, Mig29, etc.) data coming from that is displayed on my JHMCS HAFU or on the AZ/EL page? I ask because, in practice, it appears that it does NOT (frustratingly) seem to come from my own-ship NCTR capability... If I have JHMCS and the AZ/EL page up, and go 1v1 against another aircraft, the SA page is the only place that I can get the NCTR print. Should that data also show up on AZ/El and JHMCS at that point, without any donor help (AWACS, wingmen, etc)? And when I do get that ID data on the AZEL/JHMCS, it isn't clear to me where that's coming from if not from NCTR...  Thanks.

It's Link 16 data, via MIDS. You'll only get that info on the JHMCS and that part/window of the AZ/EL page, if there is MIDS data available. In the AZ/EL, there are also other windows, for on-board sensor data, but they're not populated in DCS yet.

Got it...though I was wrong about the JHMCS: It does show (at least a selection of A/C) an ID based on NCTR alone. But you have to, apparently, select it via the "STEP" function on the SA page first to get it to display on the HMD. Looking forward to that extra AZEL data window in the future. 👍

**EDIT** It does appear that the only way to get the NCTR print on the JHMCS is to select the "STEP" option on the SA page first. Is this the RL documented behavior? Seems a bit clunky as is.

Not necessarily STEP, but rather the TUC logic.
