No issues or problems, DCS runs just fine for me. I have 64 gigs ram @3600, j ust wondering if there’s any advantage to running any page filing when memory is not maxed out in the first place? Will dcs take advantage of it in any way, or is it pointless?

So if all is well, then cracks on, as you are. I found some problems on certain maps in certain airframes when dcs would crash because of page file that was too small. I also have 64gb of ram, and setting my page file to a min of 32mb and a max of 64 cleared it.

i have 128 GB ram and my windows managed paging file allocates 19 GB. with SSD drives i do not think it hurts anything and probably only helps. with that said, the paging file too big can introduce its own lag.

I saw there is some default page filing going on, just not really sure how or why it help or hurts, and in what situation it would be beneficial.  All of my drives are m.2 NVME, but since I don’t have any loading issues or crashes from memory allocation, then its probably not worth even fiddling with. I was just curious.

this is just one of the many pages talking about it. worth a read for curiosity sake. i personally let windows do its thing. you most like can too.

In other words, the paging file extends the RAM’s capacity, as it stores RAM data that has not been used or accessed lately. Additionally, if you have the paging file enabled, operations that exceed the limited RAM space are automatically sent to the paging file to be stored to free up RAM. A paging file can be read as a connected chunk of data from RAM, which is must faster than reading the data from multiple locations.
