KA-50 III module not appearing after purchasing KA-50 II upgrade on steam

Hi all, I've purchased the KA-50 III discounted module on Steam, since I already own KA-50 II (bought on Steam, everything Steam).

However, when I launch the game, (yes, I'm signed in) I only see the old KA-50 II module.

Any tips to make it work? 😞

Thanks!

It should show up in Module Manager in DCS (top left icon)

You should be able to install it from there.

That's the repeated issue. I really think they shouldn't announce a module as "Released" when it's only available in beta. They should have a separate section on the website for modules in beta, and only publish products on the main page when they are released to stable. They should also make that fact more prominent. Not that this will happen (and the minions in the forum will not support such a thing anyway).

Thanks all for your kind replies, really appreciate it! My game is called "DCS World Steam Edition", so I guess no beta. Also no module installer in the top left. @Flappie and @Johnny Dioxin thanks, this must be the issue... though to be honest, as a simple user, I have no clue what the difference is and how I should know.

Do you reckon the module will install/show when they release it (i.e. pre order), or did I just waste my money because of dodgy advertising?

As soon as it becomes available for the Stable version it should show up, so you haven't wasted your money

It has been a while since I used the Steam version of DCS (I transferred to standalone some time ago) but I assume it works like other Steam products and you can enable beta under properties (right click the game in the library and click on Properties)

You should see a beta option in the left hand column, click on that and you can select beta from the drop down.

Should you wish to use open beta I would recommend backing up your Saved Games\DCS\Config folder just to be safe.

If you get a new Saved Games\DCS.Openbeta folder after converting then you can copy your config folder to this one. I cannot recall if you get two separate folders (I know I do for standalone)

There is a wealth of knowledge of DCS installations on here so pretty much any problems you might encounter I am sure will be promptly answered.
