shagrat Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 (edited) Currently George as CP/G ultimately lists blue (friendly) and green (neutral), as long, as he doesn't acquire any yellow (unknown) or red (enemy) targets. This often leads to a situation, where we frantically try to have George look at enemy infantry we can see firing(!) at a friendly outpost or vehicle, but George keeps listing the blue outpost/vehicle, as he has no LOS to the actual enemy. This is very frustrating, as it means you focus way too much on the George Menu, rather than flying the aircraft. Solution: filter the list for red and yellow, only, as default. If a yellow target shows as a blue or green, show it once and then only show it again, if we set the list to "show all". Alternative solution could be to hide objects/groups with a setting in the Mission Editor, but to list "red only" as default is way more comfortable and would actually represent, how a human CP/G works. A human would get the task to "search for targets". He would spot an unknown structure ("yellow ground", recognize it as a friendly ("blue outpost/truck"). Next time he sees the friendly outpost, he would simply ignore it, as it is not the target he is looking for. TK-421 Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 I came here to agree! There is no logical reason why george would target a positively identified friendly. Turn that feature off completely! 1

TK-421 Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 (edited) Having situational awareness is always a good thing, and you should be making positive ID on your targets before engaging anyway. However I disagree that there is any added benefit of being able to freely target friendlies in this list. A real CPG would never target friendly callsigns with his weapons armed. A check box in the AH-64 menu that disables this feature for people who do not like it would be a good thing. Heck an even nicer addition would be for the menu to give a bearing and range to all targets in the list for added situational awareness. Edited February 26, 2023 by TK-421
admiki Posted February 26, 2023 Posted February 26, 2023 Agree, but you can de-WAS George before scanning.
