eV1Te Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) I got my TrackIR today with the TrackClip Pro  Although the built in profiles seems extremely sensitive, while turning the real head only a few degrees the head in game looks at the back wall. Which makes it hard to control the movement of the head and click on the buttons. What settings are you using for Black Shark? My settings for the moment looks like this (have only tested it for an hour): Yaw: Linear value 6 Pitch: Linear value 6 Roll: Linear value 6 XYZ: Default smooth profile Edited January 20, 2009 by eV1Te
DTWD Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Linear across the board, everything set to 17 and 100% smoothing. I also switch on precision mode as soon as I get in the game. My settings need tweaking though as I am not happy with them. The movement you require to move on screen head will require tweaking based on your monitor size as well. Mine is a 27" WS. AlphaInfinity Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Anybody know what was used in the videos? He seemed to have a pretty good balance of precision and smoothing. Combat Flight is good also, but I recently switch to the Flight profile. Seems better for my taste. I haven’t seen the need to tweak further then this. The only setting I would usually tweak would be the light sensitivity. But that’s my taste, all have different ones… Antec 900 gaming tower, PSU: Corsair 750W, Q6600, Asus P5K, 8Gig Mushkin, Nvidia eVGA 280 GTX Superclocked 1G DDR3, SSDNOW200 Kingston Drive, TrackIr 3000+Vector, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek rudder pedals pro, Sharp 42" inch LCD Aquo. spybaz Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 There is a Ka50 profile with the latest software release for TIR. I think it works great. I have tweaked the zoom axis to make it more sensitive and that's it. I use this profile for FSX now too :)

Will give them a try  Edit: just tried them. Awesome, it's a keeper (PS. It was already using the default ''flight'' profile) :D Edited January 21, 2009 by TheMoose Antec 900 gaming tower, PSU: Corsair 750W, Q6600, Asus P5K, 8Gig Mushkin, Nvidia eVGA 280 GTX Superclocked 1G DDR3, SSDNOW200 Kingston Drive, TrackIr 3000+Vector, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek rudder pedals pro, Sharp 42" inch LCD Aquo. Roge Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 My TIR 4 with Vector setup values Yaw: Linear value 8 Pitch: Linear value 8 Roll: Disabled (prevents that thing where you start wanting to trim it to your TIR roll accumulated error.. lol.. I know its just a button press away from centred again but still I prefer this disabled) XYZ: Linear value 30 (easy close viewing of Shkval) Suits me completely, hope it helps someone new and keen to just get in and fly. :book:

I checked the profiles folder, nothing there. Where did you find it? I'm curious about the settings in that profile, if you could post them I'd be grateful! oh, first post! Loving the game, just starting to get to grips with it  Thanks!

Precision mode simply reduces the sensitivity of the profile across all axes AFAIK so you'll want to just turn them all down in your profile. 17 is REALLY sensitive! I use 0,1,2,5,9,12,12,12 shape and shift the whole curve slightly for Pitch Roll and Yaw, and linear 10-ish for XYZ. I prefer that slight deadzone when looking at the HUD, stops me feeling motion-sick!
spybaz Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Hey Tronso - I'm not sure where you're having problems finding the Ka50 profile. When I did the TIR update, the profile was right there - in the GUI for TIR. Arakahn Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I updated everything too, and cant see any BS profile there. Unless you are talking about the gamelist recognized by TIR to which you can assign a profil (Flight by default)? If thats what you mean, then yes I have it, but it aint a profile...
Timm Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 (edited) Hi Guys, I have just had to re-install my Trackir and did an update on game profiles and the BS profile is no longer there, was before. What a plonker, you have re-start IR for the profile to work, Timm Edited January 22, 2009 by Timm “Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. It comes to us at midnight very clean. Hi Arakahn, Sorry for jumping in here, but yes you are correct it's not a profile as such, it's a small program that is installed so TrackIR recognizes Black Shark when starting the game. I just added a new profile did my adjustments and hey presto I got a profile just for BS. Timm “Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. It comes to us at midnight very clean. Shrubbo Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Post I made quite a while ago that should help some of you set up Tir http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=566793&postcount=38 i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. Thrustmaster Warthog T&S, TPR Pedals.
JG14_Smil Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 make your TIR response curves look like gull wings. You will have better control as you look around the sides to the rear panels.
Arakahn Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Timm: Thanks, I wanted to make sure. For a sec I thought I was gonna loose my mind trying to figure out why I couldnt see the profile :P Shrubbo: Very nice post, and very useful!
eV1Te Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 Here is my profile, updated it with small dead zone like areas for all axis. Place the file in: C:\Program Files (x86)\NaturalPoint\TrackIR4\Profiles (if you have 32-bit OS the skip the (x86) part of course)eV1Te.zip
braden Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 hello all, got my trackir w/ clip yesterday, and thanks to Shrubbos nice tutorial - was up n running in 10 minutes. I wanna have a 3way with black shark and trakir that never ends. grrrrr anyhoooo, i was quite happy with the settings as they were with SHrubbos post, i.e. i didnt even both doing fine tuning. The only thing i would like to be able to do, and cannot do - is lean in very close to the lower panels (i.e. where u turn laser on standby, the abris, the right hand panels). I tried eV1Te's profile, but that seems similar in that regard. Basically when i lean forward...its like i hit a glass wall at some point (the 4808 panel is quite close), but if i look down, the lower panels are barely readable and i cannot lean in anymore...i need to use the Zoom View key/slider to get a very up close n personal view of the lower panels/abris. Triedplaying with a few funky Z axis shapes in trackir...no cigar. So my question is...can i go from a fully zoomed out view (when i am leaning back) to a maximum zoomed in view of the lower panels using trackir only, or am i expecting too much of trackir ? cheers
eV1Te Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Have you looked at the "Tracking" windows in the TrackIR software so that your head doesn't goes out of frame when you do that? I can get really close with my TrackIR but there is a difference of using zoom and just moving the camera in the cockpit (which TrackIR does)...
SuDepp Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 ..... U can order/dedicate zoom to the track IR Z axis within the games controller menue. U will loose 6DOF but gain a real zooming in ..... which I DONT prefer..... Would be great if the X52 slider wasnґt that rubbish :/ Greets S@uDepp // Hasi @4,5 GHz @ H100i // Asrock Z87M Extreme 4 // Avirex 4x4GB // PALIT 1070 GTX SuperJetStream // Corsair 350D // Plextor extern // DELL 2407WFP // Razer Lancehead // 2xThrustmaster T.16000M + Saitek Pedals Pro // Oculus Rift // 3x amBX // Win10 Pro x64
JG14_Smil Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 you are sitting too close when you hit F12. You can hit KP/ and KP* to adjust your zoomed in view.
Fish Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 (edited) Here's my profile I avoid dead bands, and precision mode, as your head is actually very sensitive, and you get used to small movements. To compensate for this i have the TIR centering button close at hand, and use it regularly (at least as regularly as the stick trim!!), and i also have the 'pause' button close at hand, if I urgently need to fix on a 'view'. The profile (among my other input device profiles) is here if you need it.
