Me and my buddy live in the same city but use different ISPs. For test purposes we both joined and flown in an MP server but neither of us can host one. The server is not visible on the list and we get 'Server offline' when trying to connect by IP or IP:port.

Both clean OB, updated, no mods, no scripts, nothing. Simplest mission: F-5 vs F-14 near Kutaisi. What we have already tried:

1. Windows Firewall completely disabled on both systems.

2. Restarting the internet connection.

3. Connecting by IP, both ways.

There's nothing interesting in the logs. Just "Got ### servers list" or something along the lines.

I'd love to but, as I said, my router only has IPv6 rules. You literally can't use IPv4 addresses in the entire settings-filtering section of UPC Connect Box.

Since the limited number of available IPv4 address ISP can put their users behind a "natted" network, at least for the IPv4.
If you don't have a public IP address you can't host services, including DCS server. ( or you can try, but no one will be able to access your hosted service )

DCS Server also support IPv6 apparently, but I've not used personally under pure IPv6, so I'm not sure how ( and if ) it will works.

You can try to use packet sender app to verify your network configuration and be sure if you have a public or natted IP address.
You can also try to call your ISP and asking them if you've a public ip address or not.

The IPv6 vs IPv4 was the right track. I contacted my ISP because I do not have a section pertaining to port forwarding in my router settings. Me being set up by ISP to use IPv6 was the reason. The switched me to IPv4, the missing settings appeared and I set the 10308-10309 "both" with MY IP I found through command line ipconfig. It worked on the first try. Odd 🙂

Thank you all.
