Raviar
base on a discord post by dotrugirl, I wonder What are the differences between the current and future develop terrain vs Earth map? 1. what is the business model of Earth Map ? 2. is it going to render on Cloud or any cloud technologies ? 3. What are the key differences in regards to Visual effects? 4. Is it going to use similar damage model and effects? (Flat earth people finally got a point! ) Edited January 11, 2023 by Raviar
Germane
That are good questions I have assumed so far that the maps will be part of the world map as in the civilian simulations. It is possible that this will also be the case with future maps that are created with new technology. It is to be hoped. The question is also how far away the complete world map is.
RedeyeStorm
And hopefully doesn’t require to buy a new PC.
Dragon1-1
I think the world map will be a single set of geographic data, which could be, perhaps, improved by adding specific detailed locations, by adding bespoke 3D models instead of generic ones that will no doubt dominate. It won't necessarily need a new PC, but a new SSD might be handy, depending on how much space you have left.
