New splinter camo liveries

With the new PBR materials added to the Viggen last month it was finally time for me to rework the camouflage pattern, the decals, and also adding and changing some of the external details of the aircraft. Made with a modified version of the new templates.
The liveries can be downloaded: HERE
Get them while they're in stock! (97/100)
 

Liveries included:

• F15 wing (152. div.) - A plain aircraft with no additional decals
• F10 wing (101. div.) - Same as the one above, but with the addition of the ghost decal on the tail
• F21 wing (211. div.) - Same as the top one, but with discolored and worn out paint
• F21 wing (211. div. Akktu stakki) - Same as the F15 livery but with custom nose art - IRL it's a SF37 that is painted like this

Hi, I have tried installing these , but when I choose the skin ( in this case the 21 weathered version), I get this in the window, which is not whats shown in the screenshots above? thank you! The description in the .lua file of this skin is what I have chosen in the dropdown, but there is also a 21 skin available which does seem to match the screenshots of your skin. I am confused!

Actually.. Would I be correct in assuming you only installed the F21 livery? You'll need the F15 one for both the F10 and F21 liveries to work correctly. If you do not have the F15 one, that is what it would look like.


Hmm, that is very weird.
Using the downloadable zip above it looks correct for me.

 

Just to make sure it's installed correctly. This is where and how it should look like:
The new ones being the zipped F10,F15,F21.

 

Also yes, there are two(?) F21 livries already that come with the module as standard: The "Akktu Stakki SF-37" and "37402"

Thanks, I had installed to my saved games folder instead. I have corrected and copied your layout, see screenshot. However, you can see there is also the description .lua file open, from your F21 folder and the name there is different to what shows in the dropdown in DCS ME when you assign the skin. Should the name in the .lua file be the name you choose in the dropdown?

Unless I am missing something here, "211. stridsflygdiv. - Urban Röd" is in your dropdown list.  You have just not selected it.

It is working for me.

Hi, yes it is, that is what is confusing me, as that skin is a digital camo if you select it.........I can get MYSE skins working no problem, if I select the dropdown shown in my screen grab...I just now want to understand why the description in his .lua file apparently references a different skin? 

I see you have installed yours via the saved games path, rather than the DCS main install folder as well. This should not be a problem ( from my limited understanding of how the skins work!)

If you are referring to '#1 Splinter F21 Norrbottens Flygflottilj' (and the #2 and #3 ones as well) then that is not part of this livery pack. That comes from the liveries installed as standard with the Viggen.

So what is the name in the description .lua file used for? I am assuming it’s what DCS reads the skin as, in the mission editor drop downs etc, is that correct?

Yes. And if there is no name defined it will use the directory name.

So in your post earlier,  "211. stridsflygdiv. - Urban Röd" was in the lua and the drop down

I had the digital camo issue as well. I found out that I needed to place all three folders (or at least the F15 folder) in the liveries folder, not just "F10 Skånska Flygflottiljen" (see screenshot in AdrianL's post). After I did that the camo was fine. Also, I tried the skins in OB 2.7, they apply fine, but the color in the air intake and engine exhaust is plain white, but I'm fine with it working in 2.8.

Yes, that's for saving disk space, so the three liveries share a single copy of the textures.

Yes, you need the F15 livery for the F10 and F21 liveries to work correctly. As @Rudel_chw said it's to save some disk space as the three can share some of the modified textures, and I used the F15 one as the "master" livery which hold the shared textures.

The textures were made for the PBR materials added with 2.8.X, so it looking weird in 2.7 is expected as they weren't made for it.

According to Sven Stridsbergs book VIGGEN, Urban Röd actually had a couple of AJS 37 for a short time: 21-41 (former 15-14), 21-43(former 15-49), 21-44(former 7-44), 21-45(former 15-31), 21-47(former 7-77), 21-51(former 6-14). Sven Stridsberg VIGGEN pages 171, 172, 223 and 224.
