I am one of the few who ( well I hope to hell I am not the only one) have not got my sweaty hands on B/S yet, and Ive no doubt that I will be happy beyond belief when I do, But as I can only gaze from afar ,ie screenshots, and posted youtubes,

but so far Ive not come across any screeny/youtube,s showing smoke coming from the engines,

Can someone enlighten me as to this.

Hi Crow Bar,

In normal conditions the engines don't produce any smoke. If you are hit, and the engine is damaged, it may produce light gray smoke. The same goes for AI helicopters and airplanes.

Is that what you were asking about?

There is a heat blur for sure. I will post a shot in a minute!

Thanks guys

@ Miguez, thank you, yes that did answer my question.:)

@ Sunjah, I would be pleased if you would, thanks.:)

Well, I usually play with heat blur off. It would get pretty strong sometimes, but just taking off and flying for a bit there was no real heat blur. I guess you have to be going for a while.

What I will do is keep playing with it on, and the first time I see a good sample I will screenshot it and post it here. It does get pretty wavy/blurry.

well I tried to make you a screenshot of it but you can't really see heat blur on a screenshot.... since it would only be blurry if it is moving like on a video.

yeah, its hard to see on a screenshot but the heat blurr pretty darn beautiful when viewing the aircraft in F2/F3 modes. it goes sideways and slightly downwards due to the configuration of the exhausts.

As said, Heat-Blur difficult to capture on screenshot. Look closely around Ordinance/Pylons and Wings and you'll get a general idea, without motion :)

Hi Sunjah,

If you have heat Blur turned on, you should see it at all times, from the moment the engines come on. It does not take a certain amount of time before you can see them.

Best regards,

Yes, that is the kind I meant. When I flew earlier today, you could barely see what I had on my chopper, maybe wind or somthing.

Anyway, I am going back to play with it off (it really got thick sometimes), it seems as though a worthy screenshot has been posted; my mission is done!
