sragsd0416 Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 I am experiencing an anomaly when flying the F/A-18 at night. The cockpit and helmet system goes almost totally out and then fades back in after a few seconds. There seems to be no rhyme or reason, not related to clouds, I can be looking around the cockpit and it just does. We are running off of my sons single server set up. He is also experiencing the same issue. We have three players on during this. This is only on the F/A-18 and not the other planes we are practicing with (A-10IIC, F-14/15/16, AH-64 etc. We also have different video cards. Mine is a RTX3090 running on a triple monitor (alienware) and he is using (I believe a RTX1080TI on a single monitor. We are all using tracker IR. All drivers are current as is Windows 10.
Chain_1 Posted February 16, 2023 Posted February 16, 2023 Double check your control axes for any binds. I have the HUD/JHMCS brightness bound to some controller axes, and if i move those controls after a hot start that will cause the HUD or JHMCS to instantly turn off and then back on while the game matches the physical axis position, and it looks like what you described.
Foka Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Isn't this that stupid "simulation" of eyesight getting used to darkness, so depending if your;re looking inside the cockpit, or outside, it put a white transparent filter on ther screen? Most annoying thing!
FlippingGerman Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 (edited) I've experienced this too. This isn't a control axis issue - the entire cockpit goes dark, and it also happened while viewing my aircraft in F2 view with the external lighting going dark too, although not completely black. I was in burner, which was lighting up the aircraft, and I think all light from the aircraft itself disappeared, with background light still showing. I do have a track file, but it's ~500MB, this happened at some random point toward the end of the (quite long) flight...Is that still useful? Edited February 19, 2023 by FlippingGerman
Jenson Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Encountered the same before, but usually at the start of the game, the whole cockpit goes dark even with the lights on, then after a few seconds, it will get normal. Dragon1-1 Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 I had this as well, looking straight up in VR. This is not something a track file will likely show, it's related to where you're looking, and it likely has to do with eye adaptation being messed up somehow.
