Rabies Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 As the title states. It would be great to be able to randomly experience such hazards whilst operating in our desert/winter maps. It would also be useful to have as an option in the ME. Allowing mission designers to setup a brown/white-out location by simply designating a particular area, similar to the ability to remove objects such as trees, by setting a particular radius. 2
Drangoll Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 (edited) I agree. In general the heli's effects should be reworked. With all the desert maps we have things like brownouts should be represented as they drastically change the way you operate in such environment ( imagine landing on spot and you can't see a thing except dust. You can only rely on your instruments to touch down safely) They announced new helicopters effects a while back (2021 IIRC) but no news so far Edited February 20, 2023 by Drangoll 1
heloguy Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 Really would be great to have this effect. It's a game changer, especially for any cargo/utility/assault aircraft. If anyone can't land in the dust doing one of those three missions, then they are basically useless pilots in the desert. Not too far off for attack pilots either, if they have to go to a dusty FARP. 1 i9 12900k @ 4.9ghz, 64gb RAM Nvidia RTX 3090 Windows 11 x64 Pimax Crystal VP Force Rhino w/RS F16GRH, Virpil TCS Rotor Plus AH-64 Collective, BRD F1 Pedals, WH Throttle, FSSB R3 w/WH Grip, PointCTRL v2
Talisman_VR Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 I will be disappointed if we don't get brown-out with the upcoming Chinook and the Afghanistan map. Surely the new downwash effect from the rotor blades introduced recently will give brown-out with such a large twin rotor helicopter like the Chinook. Happy landings, Talisman
rwbishUP Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 I had a "brown-out" today, it was magnificent, I think it caused me to have an out of body experience. AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, ROG ASTRAL RTX5080, G.SKILL TRI Z5 64gb, 4tb M.2 x 2, WIN 11 PRO x64
