I'm using SSA with the HF8 + Buttkicker. Everything works. However, I notice the bottom 2 vibrators on the HF8 pad will get stuck on a vibrating loop. I have to power down the pad and power it back up.

This seems to be tied to the fact HL8 has 8 haptics vs 6 on SSA. The buttkicker doesn't get stuck, but the haptic pad does - and it seems to be just the 2 extra vibrators.

Any ideas?

Some recent videos suggest the HF8s own software has been significantly improved, eg says "improved framerate from 15fps now 75fps (around 5mins in - i'm assuming thats frequency rather than fps)  so in theory should be more responsive and more refined.  Can't see any recent videos for flight sims though

Got a unit last week but it's not plugged in the rig.

I also own a Jetseat so easy comparison

Hello

How to configure NLR game settings for DCS?

Thinking of purchasing the HF8. I run DCS and have had motors fail with the JetPad. Currently run SSA and also a buttkicker. Is SSA software compatible and would I not install NLR software? Is SSA software still preferred over NLR software?

Like I said just before, better to use SSA. So yes.

Did I read somewhere that it only uses 6 out of the 8 motors? And do I need to install NLR software with the SSA software?

Only 6 out of 8 yes, but honestly, it's not an issue. No need to install NLR software. The 2 will conflicts.

OK, so one or the other. Many Thanks!

Any news on this issue? Been using the old JetSeat but motors keep failing so thinking of buying the HF8.

Simhaptics, even if it costs money, supports the HF8 to my knowledge, and all 8 motors.

Some effects are bugged with HF8 and SSA but not so much. Damage and failure effects, and ejection I think. Never had any other issues after deactivating them.

Really ? I thought it was only on roadmap. Interresting 🙂

Just checked and no native support for HF8 with USB, only with jack connector and sound card.

I was mistaken then. Too bad. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I have the HF8 connected via USB to my PC. The NLR software works fine in DCS so I know it works. I closed the NLR software and installed the latest stable SimShaker for Aviators. The tests inside the software app work fine and I see DCS selected by default with generic templates for helos, jets and piston airframes. But nothing happens inside DCS using any of my modules (UH-1, F-16, F-86, etc). I'm sure there is something I'm missing but after a few hours of dicking around I'm lost. I've left a note on the discord but don't know what the response times look like so thought I'd try here.

Edit: wait, if I'm reading the above right the USB connected approach will NOT work with SSA? Well hell, I don't have a dedicated sound card so it's back to NLR software...

I have selected ForceFeel from the drop down. I'm going to uninstall everything and try to find all the breadcrumbs to delete, then reinstall. Driving me nuts.

Ok, second uninstall/install was the charm. After uninstalling everything again, rebooting and installing SimHaptic it works. I'll have to look around for examples for individual modules but at least I've got the software talking with DCS.

So the HF8 works with USB with Simhaptics software? Does the software have specific settings for it? My HF8 is coming today and I guess I have three software options for it...the native NLR stuff, SSA and Simhaptics possibly.

Lasted approx ten minutes of testing before it was back in the box and ready to be picked up for a refund. I ran it with Andre's software, all it did was mildly vibrate (intensity changed with engine revs, no gun effect I could discern, nothing on landing). Piss-weak and I became hot too, in just ten minutes.

I also installed the native software but nothing in it for IL2. It's been out for nearly two years and they still haven't been arsed.

I might try the Ushake-6 as that has proper transducers as opposed to this thing's buzzers but with two huge bass-shakers already mounted to the cockpit floor I'm not sure why I even bothered with the HF8. Bored I guess.

was comfort the trigger to refund? hot from rage or due to the shakers getting overheated? because the software allows for controlling intensity, both general and particular for each effect.
Engine effects tends to dilute things, so it´s usually very low on my settings, because it´s of course working all the time once startup is done. Besides, SSA got a tick for having full engine effects on ground, but reduced airborne.
