So if you are using a bitrate higher than 200 and not specifying H.264 in ODT, expect many issues. Matter of fact, I don't even touch ODT anymore. The defaults work best for me. The Oculus Link HUD overlay is showing H264 for me with everything set to default in the debug tool. I'm running V59 headset and Oculus PC app. So it doesn't appear to be the case for me at least that default is H.265. Where did you hear that it had changed? 1 Slugmouse: a finger-mounted mouse button emulator for hand-tracked VR cockpit clicking. Available now! Slugmouse Demonstration Video
Bazz_Mulder Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 (edited) QP uses h.264 for cable and h.265 for air link. Maybe he was on air link and was not aware of this difference. Edited November 7, 2023 by Bazz_Mulder Kowalsky - "Fox 3" simply means that you have commitment issues

sze5003 Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 So I installed processor lasso last night to see maybe that is why MT mode is stuttering me for me so much in VR.While I'm in an instant action mission I notice processor lasso reporting dcs is using 5% of the CPU.I see CPU #8 at 100% others doing squat. Nothing crazy running in the background, windows is optimized, drivers up to date, etc. So I park #8 using lasso affinity and then #9 goes to 100%. I do the same to 9 and 10 goes to 100%. Same thing for 11..after parking all these I notice a random e core is always at 100.Not sure if it should be behaving this way. Single threaded DCS also has stutters even on lowest settings with constant 90fps or 45 if ASW is on. But they are not as severe as Multithreaded mode. toni Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 Yes I did, do you recommend uninstall al the software and reinstall for VR ? On the monitor starts ok

Phantom711 Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 @toni No, you should keep on investigating for now. Are you trying to run the single or multithreaded version? I just went from a HP G2 to the Quest Pro last week…I know it‘s not really easy and intuitive at first. Are you in the Oculus VR environment and have you activated „Oculus Link“? (It‘s under settings) When it‘s activated, the environment‘s look changes. There are some icons in front of you, click on the little monitor symbol which activates the desktop. You should now see your desktop monitor in the background. Now use the mouse or controllers to activate your DCS shortcut. vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. That „grey scene“ is what I meant when I said „the environment‘s look changes“. It should basically already look like that as soon as you launched „oculus link“. But there should also be that array of icons in front of you from where you can activate your desktop. vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.
Phantom711 Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 Maybe let‘s start again: You have turned on your PC and your QPro is connected via USB-C. (Do you use the official cable?) You put on your headset and turn it on. What do you do next? vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.
toni Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 activate the link cable, and appears what you said ,keaboard, etc, the I do what I said before. Maybe one of this days, you could drive me via Discord, because Im lost. by the way, do I need the meta app in the mobile to be active beside me to engage all this ?
Phantom711 Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 You only need the app initially in order to activate your QPro. After that it doesn‘t need to be running. Sorry, I am not very familiar with discord really. vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.
YoYo Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 @toni Since this question is sometimes repeated, I understand that it may be puzzling for new users of QP or Q3, so I made a short video how I run DCS: Webmaster of http://www.yoyosims.pl Win 10 64, i9-13900 KF, RTX 4090 24Gb OC, RAM 64Gb Corsair Vengeance LED OC@3600MHz,, 3xSSD+3xSSD M.2 NVMe, Predator XB271HU res.2560x1440 27'' G-sync, Sound Blaster Z + 5.1, TiR5, [MSFS, P3Dv5, DCS, RoF, Condor2, IL-2 CoD/BoX] VR fly only: Meta Quest Pro
toni Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 ok, when resetting the traytool to different settings a red label tells me " software not compatible with this hardware " and then dissapears. Maybe my failure at launching DCS is because of that, I use a non 4K monitor to see online and download files. Can be that the clue ? or I need to lower the bitrate to 264 and try again ?

I use encoding bitrate 960, also resolution of 2D monitor isnt a problem. Looks like you have kind of software problem. Btw. which codec do you use? You can check it in ODT and also HUD option (to confirm it). Use H.264 for LinkCable. It sounds like you are launching it from within the Oculus Virtual Desktop inside Oculus Link. It also sounds like you haven't enabled VR in DCS. You can launch it from the Oculus Link virtual desktop if you like, but that means you have to use Oculus VR controllers when there is a simpler way. The method below enables you to start DCS without launching the virtual desktop or using the Oculus controllers. First ensure DCS is configured to run in VR mode. You must either select "Enable Virtual Reality Headset" within the DCS Options > VR tab or add --force_enable_VR to the command line in the shortcut that you use to launch DCS. For example, create a shortcut to the DCS.exe, edit the shortcut properties and modify the "target" field to add the command line options to the end of the line as shown below: I prefer not to enable the VR option in the DCS options and instead have two shortcuts for DCS. One for VR and one for 2D so that I can run DCS in 2D to test things such as new releases or to just rebuild the shader and texture caches when a new release is installed without having to put on the headset. Now that DCS is VR-ready, put the headset on and start the Oculus Link from within the headset Settings. The Oculus PC app that forms the PC side of the link should start automatically. Once the link is established, you are presented with a "staging" room. A sort of empty infinity space with a tiled floor and ceiling (see image below). There is no need to interact with this staging room at all. Instead, launch DCS from the VR-enabled shortcut on your PC desktop or Start Menu using your mouse. You will need to peek from under your headset to do this. DCS will then start and the initial login and splash screens will be shown on your monitor. You won't see anything in VR until DCS begins to load the home screen. You should then see that DCS is starting from within the staging room and shortly afterwards the DCS blue sky loading screen and then the DCS home screen should appear inside a hanger in VR.
