MT: Steam will not launch MT version in VR (for Oculus Quest)

- Steam does not provide an option to launch the MT version in VR

- shortcut "\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin-mt\DCS.exe" --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR" results in Steam pop-up to approve the launch options, then simply runs DCSWorld\bin\dcs.exe

I´d like to add that it doesn´t just affect Oculus users, I run a Reverb G2 and usually play with steam VR which now doesn´t work.

The "MT VR" option in the steam launch popup that was mentioned in the FAQ is not available.

I tried it and when selecting MT it started my DCS in VR mode.  I could tell it was working but made my VR experience far worse!  Far more reprojection.  I had to go back to normal.  Just couldnt use it at all. Turn on your Steam VR performance display, that shows the FPS and the performance graphs.  Without MT, my graphs are solid straight lines.  With MT on, they are going crazy, no longer steady and like I said, the world stutters horribly.  much worse than before.

Using a Rift-S.  It APPEARS to be launching in Steam VR mode by default.  No way to do Oculus VR.  Based on visible loading screens and hourglass symbol in headset.  As with most Oculus users Steam VR performance is lower than Oculus VR mode. Overall it seems that the game performance improvements have offset the poor Steam VR performance for the most part, so it is a Net-0 change. I would imagine that running MT with Oculus Mode should be even better.

i just fixed it for Oculus.

Previously i had installed OpenXR tools for WMR to get the openxr runtime. I now uninstalled it and used the '--force_openXR' parameter in steam to prevent using OculusVR.
In steam i launch DCS with the 'MT preview' option. The in-game fps counter now shows the CPU/GPU bound text which confirms it is working with the MT version.
Performance i quite comparable to non-MT....on my i7 and RTX 3070. Was expecting a lot more, but apparently there is still to much going on on the main thread.

Launches in VR mode with Quest 2 for me, using standalone DCS-MT, I get some binding issues, but FPS seems better.  But currently unplayable until I can at least sort the throttle binding which currently only recognises half the range of movement!

But just wanted to chime in and say its not all Quest 2 uesrs.

Did some more testing: non-MT performance is better for me, even with the ground shadows enabled.
My 1ste core is totally maxed out in the MT version, while is have play room in the non-mt version (single player, 1 enemy plane).
It seems the total invert of what one would expect.

I don't understand the question. Please elaborate.

I quoted the only tidbit you gave us about your CPU, so which one i7 you have, off the hundres of versions Intel made?
