Question about real use of the PVI-800

Hi all,

I have a question about the PVI-800 in the Ka-50.

¿ How is the regular use of this INU in real life? Some clarifications.

Several Ka-50 pilots are in the Briefing room discussing about the Flight Plan. When the FPL is closed what the pilots do?

-Write in a paper the coords about WP, flight parameters, meteo, etc, run into the Ka-50 cockpit and in the middle of the starup sequence turn on the PVI-800 and type manually the whole Flight Plan using the paper.

-Deliver the FPL to ground or maintenance service, and this personnel open a registry or also climb inside the cockpit and manually program the PVI-800. Then the pilot only needs to verify the data inserted in the starup sequence.

-The pilots use some sort of external solid programmable memory to insert the FPL, then when in the cockpit, the memory pod is inserted in the PVI-800 and the FPL downloaded.

Anyone knows how the PVI-800 is operated in real life?

Thanks.

The Tornado has a recordable solid memory, the "PODS" where the pilots add the WP of a FLP and then only need to insert the memory pod into the INU to download de FLP.

The Ka-50 had something similar or the usual way to operate the INU is inserting manually the WP?
