How to have TADS on pilots left MFD - but not dark

I am trying to get a picture form TADS on my left pilot MFD but in a way that screen is not dark and - i need to have a flir camera ?  How to setup that?

Go to the VID page, then select TADS on R1. You can then select TADS on T6 to show the full TADS display, or go to a different page and the TADS video will be underlaid behind it. The Video Control Knob (labeled VID on the top left corner of the MPD) controls the brightness of the video underlay.

Well i wish to look on my left pilot MFD screen (like repeater), the thing the cpg is looking? But i wan't to see the flir image and that image to be bright enough for me to confirm what cpg is locking? Or how do i tell him to switch to FLIR?

The TADS is in FLIR mode by default.

In the video below, you'll see me set the TADS display at the 20 second mark. If you mean enabling FLIR in the eyepiece? The switch is by your left knee.

Perhaps a screenshot of what you are seeing would helpful here?

Are you talking about the MPDs in the cockpit, or are you exporting the displays to a second monitor?

The CPG has control over whether to use FLIR or DTV, depending on the situation, and has controls to adjust brightness/gain for both.  If you are flying solo, you will have to switch to the front seat to get these settings dialed in how you like them, then move to the back seat again and pull up the VID feed on your chosen MPD.

Assuming you are flying a daytime mission, changing the TADS to DTV will likely give you better results trying to identify units George is tracking.

Unfortunately, George does not bother to adjust the gain/level of the FLIR, it will always be at either the default setting, or the last used setting.

If the default setting isn't right for current conditions, i will usually jump into the front seat and adjust it for a clear image at full zoom then jump back to pilot seat.

That TADS display on 20 second mark (on your left MFD)...mine is fully dark, almost nothing can be seen..How is your so bright?

Good question? I have never messed around with brightness, video or day/night/mono knobs unless I have to. Have you tried adjusting those? Have you checked your monitor settings?
