Hey @Reflected, thanks for another ace campaign! I'm really enjoying it and have just done my bit for the Amiens raid. I've learnt I'm much more at home in the tomcat but loving the challenge this brings!

Quick, probably stupid question, but have got myself confused thinking about it. With regards to the resin ID lamp on the underside of the aircraft, do you have it turned on constantly whilst over friendly territory or only with you morse the nights code? I assume you keep it on so ground forces can see you, the fact you turn it on after the green flare on take off makes me think you would. Talking to friends though and they think you wouldn't as its asking for trouble and would give the colour away to the enemy. Which is it?

Thanks

The resin lamps are for formation flying and are located at the trailing edge of the wing tips.

The ID lamps are for the purpose of IFF, like to signal the aerodrome that it's an allied aircraft in the pattern wanting to land. After passing a certain altitude after takeoff or before coming in to land, they were turned off.

So they are two different type of lamps for different purpose.
