Stars and Planets Simulated in DCS?

Just noticed some constellations and maybe planets in DCS (turned GAMA up big time).  Is this a thing in DCS?  If so, is it simulated with appropriate dates and time of day?

Afaik yes and also depends on the location. Planets idk.

The constellations are there but, no, they are not right for the date. IIRC, they are right for mid-June (you can only see Orion setting around sunset in the sim during the sim’s deep winter months)—for the northern hemisphere skies at least. At least that was the case the last time I looked. I’ve never checked the S Atlantic map to see what’s there.

Night time in this game is really disappointing.  Not to mention the night sky.  Operation Flashpoint had a proper night sky over 20 years ago.  Even now, the Arma engine still takes date, time, lat, long into account and makes the proper night sky.
