markturner1960 Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 (edited) Just had first stab at this. Couple of thoughts...... Need a way to avoid having to continually fumble for my keyboard to press spacebar and avoid pressing any other keys........ Landed with 600lbs fuel!!! After being instructed to leave runway at Bravo, nothing happened......? I just parked and closed the mission. No grade or anything? Any ideas why? Could really do with the text for the manouvres staying on screen for longer on occasion...... Also, due to hamfisted flying and not being on a cardinal direction at the right speed and angels precisely between events, Paco mistook my corrections for me performing the event.....Not sure what can be done about this? Am I correct in leaving all the waypoint and radio channel switching to Paco? Going to re fly once I have practised the aero stuff a bit....... Very immersive and great fun! If somewhat taxing of my limited abilities ! Where do I find my grade sheet? Finally, on my first start attempt, I ended up with a stall light flashing and a lightning bar flashing about the centre strip guage....no idea what happened or why, I followed my normal procedure....? any ideas? Cheers! Edited March 30, 2023 by markturner1960 System specs: PC1 :Scan 3XS Ryzen 5900X, 64GB Corsair veng DDR4 3600, EVGA GTX 3090 Win 10, Quest Pro, Samsung Odyssey G9 Neo monitor.

Need a way to avoid having to continually fumble for my keyboard to press spacebar and avoid pressing any other keys........ it’s the only way in dcs to ask for the player’s input . Or the F10 radio menu but that’s way more cumbersome Landed with 600lbs fuel!!! Fuel management After being instructed to leave runway at Bravo, nothing happened......? I just parked and closed the mission. No grade or anything? Any ideas why? If you landed on 21R and it was really bravo where you turned right, then my guess is you landed fast and long and rushed accross all trigger zones .the more stuff is squeezed into a mission, the less forgiving it becomes in order to deconflict all that stuff . This is not a forgiving mission with so many instructions coming from Paco . Could really do with the text for the manouvres staying on screen for longer on occasion......they do stay on screen for the duration but you can also look at the briefing pdf - as stated in the mission briefing Also, due to hamfisted flying and not being on a cardinal direction at the right speed and angels precisely between events, Paco mistook my corrections for me performing the event.....Not sure what can be done about this? More precise flying - see my comment above about complexity. Somehow the mission needs to know when you start the maneuver - and that reduces flexibility a lot. Am I correct in leaving all the waypoint and radio channel switching to Paco? Correct Going to re fly once I have practised the aero stuff a bit....... Very immersive and great fun! If somewhat taxing of my limited abilities ! Thanks! Where do I find my grade sheet? In the campaign documentation folder Finally, on my first start attempt, I ended up with a stall light flashing and a lightning bar flashing about the centre strip guage....no idea what happened or why, I followed my normal procedure....? any ideas? No idea, sorry Cheers! Hey, thanks for reaching out. Please find my comments above. It’s worth reflying a few times to get every detail right because this will be the foundation for the upcoming missions. Each lesson builds on the previous one and expect you to already be proficient in everything you’ve learned thus far. Good luck with the campaign! 1 1 Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
Godric Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Are you in VR? I had the same issue with campaigns in the past. I bought an MMO gaming pad, and some premade universal straps from amazon and strapped it to my left leg like a knee board. I have left and right mouse clicks bound along with space bar. I also bound F1-F10 and really helps for VR
Lt_Jaeger Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 I made myself a Voice Attack command. Ready, Rodger, Yes sir and a bunch of other end up pressing shift for me. 2
markturner1960 Posted March 31, 2023 Author Posted March 31, 2023 Thanks, have set up VA for "space" ! This maybe more of a basic flying query rather than campaign specific, but in the High AoA rudder trurns exercise, I am finding that using the rudder only, its very difficult to avoid the nose dropping and then going below the horizon quite steeply.....how best to keep the nose up while trying to yaw left and right? The first time I tried it I just ran the stock load out and ran out of gas halfway through it. The second time I put on two bags and loaded up with as much fuel as I could carry and ran out of gas in the break. So not really sure what to say.

Or, instead of ‘cheating’ with bags you could try and be more conscious of the throttle position/ fuel flow/ airspeed - I never got below 2k in that mission and I’ve flown it a hundred times. The key is to be gentle on the stick and rudders. Small inputs and see how the jet responds. You can practice it outside of the campaign too in a free flight mission. Hey man, I never claimed to be the best Tomcat pilot, LOL! I've had the mod since it came out, just don't fly it because I'm too busy in the Hornet.
