Hi,

I have an issue which was there already long time ago, then it was gone, then it was there again. Actually it is there again.

Issue:

Whenever I join a MP Server, select a plane, press the "Fly" button, the game freezes for about 5 minutes. The screen freezes inside of the game in the scene the windows is in front of where I can hit the "Fly" button. Then, after the mentioned waiting time I enter the cockpit and everythings works like expected. You can imagine that those 5 minutes (don´t nail me on the exact time) are pretty annoying.

I have no MODs installed, newest Open Beta, TacView (1.9.0.0) and the periphery in my signature. My Windows 10 is up to date. DCS repair hs bee used already. The Nvidia drives version is 531.29.

I´m out of ideas. Attached is the latest log file when enterying a 4YA server (Syria). But independend on the server the problem occurs. And in both versions, non-MT and MT, same thing.

What is new compared to the issues I had in the past: when entering an own created MP server, the problem is there as well which was different in the past where I had no issues at all.

I need help.

Hello fellow pilots...

I have no issues connecting to a server but when I hit the fly button DCS just hangs and when I go into task manager DCS is not responding. I did a full repair as well. I have a decent P.C, 64 gigs of ram a 3090Ti and a Ryzen 7 5800X 3D CPU. Not sure what the problem is. Maybe someone out there may help me out.

Thanks, Sixxer

Look at my thread 3 below yours. I have the same issue, only on MP servers. I hope someone will help, this drives me crazy.

Hello XoXen... I'm having the same issue's. I'm glad I'm not alone on this one. I too am having the same problem on other servers as well. I also fly on that 4YA server (Syria). Hopefully will get a response soon. Cheers M8!!

Check also my thread. I think I had something similar.

Thanks for your advice. I tried it but no joy, same as before. I have to mention that the problem is not related to crashes. Once I enter the cockpit everything runs fine. But this takes up to 5 minutes, which is the issue.

Hi Sixxpack, it is always good not to be alone. This excludes hardware related issues more or less. I would be more than happy if this can be solved in any way.

Edit: Do you undervolt your CPU? I do, maybe this causes anything. I will try.

Edit 2: Just checked, but after the last BIOS update it seems I did not undervolt anymore. So I can exclude this from my ends.

No pal... I don't mess around with that anymore... lol killed my last pc trying to over and under clock. I'm pretty sure other folks are having the same issues. It won't be long before more people address the situation. Fingers crossed.

I finally solved the problem. I fully deleted the DCS folder inside of the Saved Games folder. After it got rebuilt I copied everything back piece by piece and this was the culprit:

...Saved Games\DCS\Data\Kneeboard Builder Config

After deleting this folder I am able to enter servers without any issues. Maybe You use the Kneeboard Builder App as well. I won´t do so anymore if it creates issues like this.

I hope this helps you as well. Otherwise the way I found it might be benifitial for you as well. For sure I did a copy of the complete folder before. Especially the key bindings cost me a hell of a time to adjust.

After deleting this folder I am able to enter servers without any issues again. Maybe this helps others to solve this problem. At least the way to delete the DCS folder and copy everthing back piece by piece and check every time you did is worth a try.

Yep....!!!! That did the trick. Nice job on that fix. It was like 4 and a half minutes to get in a server. Now it's a lot  faster. Thanks again!!!

Hmm i got same problem, sadly deleting Saved Games\DCS\Data\Kneeboard Builder Config didnt help.

I tested it on empty Caucasus map, SP. Game freezes and stop responding for like 2min as soon as i unpause or press "fly". Game loads normally and even runs smoothly when paused. After that 2 min freezing, game starts responding and plays normally. It just started out of a blue, game was playing with no problems before....
