rapid Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Ok I will try to get this across the best way that i can. When using the Track IR how do you keep the view steady? when i try to view some thing it looks like my head is shaking, how could i keep the view steady and smooth. i hope i put it across correctly so that you understand what i mean.:helpsmilie: Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII , Ryzen 3900X, Nzxt Kraken Z73, Vengence RBG Pro DDR4 3600mhz 32 GB, 2x Corsair MP 600 pcie4 M.2 2 TB , 2x Samsung Qvo SSD 2x TB, RTX 3090 FE, EVGA PSU 800watt, Steelseries Apex Pro. LoyalNine Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Is it possible you have some light reflection showing up in your TIR?? Open your TIR.. go to the menu bar.. Press VIEW, click Tracking and see if there is any backround light (should show up yellow or red if I recall.. looks like visual static) adjust it so all you see are the three green dots. If that does not maybe if you boost the smoothing setting that may help though I have never tried. eV1Te Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 (edited) I have smoothing at 30 in the TrackIR software, higher than that and my head is slow like syrup :music_whistling: But at the same time I have reduced the sensitivity of my head movements in the TrackIR software as well (since the standard settings was way to sensitive for me) Test this: Turn of every light in the room just to be sure that there isn't any interference. Have the Trackir at some medium distance since I wold guess that longer distances would make the readout of your head more shaky (I have approx. 1-1.5 meter) Reduce the sensitivity of TrackIR but this will make you have you turn your head more to do the same change in view angle in game. (Change the curves for the different axis for a your profile in TrackIR software to have lower values) Look at the Gauges in TrackIR software and see if you can see the same "shakes" there as you notice in the game. Shrubbo Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Also could be these one or more of these 2 things if the above suggestions did not work... You are too far away from the sensor, I think 24-36 inches for the tir4 (Not sure, you will have to check) ...or combined with the above or solo.. You are using the hat reflector things and they are dirty. Spray them with windex or similar and wash and dry them off.... Jittery always means those 2 things to me if there is nothing showing up in the track view except the green dots. i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. rapid Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 will check later on, but im not sitting too far from the Track Ir unit niether is there any odd light source behind me and its not the hat reflector becuase it does the same with the pro clip as well. thanks any way. h00t74 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 DO you have the Vector Expansion?? I had the same prob until I upgraded to that (Obviously if you have a newer track IR it comes with it.) Also the hat clip w/ the three points helped to.
rapid Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 Yes i do have the latest version.................check my sig out. hyperfighter Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 try using F8, worked for me. (f12 = center tir, f9 = pause tir, f8 is stop shaky tir and make it steady tir ;P)

Shrubbo Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 F8 default key is precision mode. If that fixes your problem then it isn't really a problem as such, you just have your individual sensitivities to high. i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. NaturalPoint_Vince Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Also look at different curve settings, such as adding a dead zone for the response curves. Support@NaturalPoint.com TrackIR - Put your head in the game http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/index.html

jg3_dragon Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 I have had some issue with this. All I do is exit the Tracker program, unplug the tracker USB. Plug it back in and restart the software. I don't know why it gets stupid, but it does. If the Tracker is working right. You should see tracking in the bottom left. If it isn't, you will see the text flicker in the bottom left window of the Tracker UI. Hope this helps. Dragon
connos Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Try to disable padlock if you have it enable in the game options. I found it more stable with that option disable. jg3_dragon Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Here is what I have for Tracker settings with BS.
Maximus_G Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 when i try to view some thing it looks like my head is shaking, how could i keep the view steady and smooth. Playing with the curves and smoothing in TIR software is helpful. I would suggest a gradual adjustment tactic: first, make a big smoothing. Try it. Then lower it and try again. Repeat until you find a value that's comfort enough. And the same thing with the curves. First, make them really low, excessively low. This way i find the best settings TIR software can give me. But i have to say there could be physiological factors - that's my case. I just don't keep my head rock-steady, it's kinda agile , so i'm having parasite view movements with TIR. Very inconvenient, but just can't fix it.

JDski Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 (edited) Try fine tuning your filters under the settings options that are available while you have the tracking window up in the TrackIR software. In the menu select view/tracking. Edited February 13, 2009 by JDski
JG14_Smil Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 hello, make sure the mouse is not fighting the TIR for control in BS, see if Alt C stops the jitters. You can add some deadband to the mouse axis if needed.
Dugulus Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Levi, I also have had this problem with TIR getting jittery. I noticed it when I let DCSmax start TIR. Sometimes, but not always. Also, when it is jittery, F12 does not work to center view. Starting TIR outside of DCSmax seems to solve the problem.
Tnt Snipes Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 (edited) i have the same issue with trackir rapid is talking about... it only happens when you look at the functional keys of the panels... doesn't F8 slows down the head movement...??? and yeah its happens when the mouse cursor is placed on top of a functional key...
