ac5 Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 As the title says... I have switched my DCS from stable to the latest DCS 2.8.4.39313 Open Beta, but this problem is still not resolved, as already mentioned in this thread: Mainboard: ASUS Maximus X Hero Intel Z 370 CPU: Intel 12-Core i7-8086K @ 4.0 GHz Memory: 32GB Corsair DDR4-3000 MHz Graphics Card: ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB Monitor ASUS - Oled PG42UQ 41.5" @ 4K 1 SSD Samsung 860 PRO 256 GB 1 SSD Samsung 990 PRO NVMe M.2 4 TB Windows 11 Home - 64 CH Products Combatstick, Throttle and Pedals
Hulkbust44 Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 In the given image, you are outside of Rmax, so you won't get a SHOOT cue. Sent from my moto g stylus 5G (2022) using Tapatalk
Harker Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 You need the steering dot to be inside the ASE circle, and be within max range, in order to receive a SHOOT message. In your screenshot, the dot is to the right of the circle and you are outside of max range. 1 The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. ac5 Posted May 1, 2023 Author Posted May 1, 2023 I don't get it.. isn't my steering dot to be inside the ASE circle? The MIG is right in front of me, less then 7 NM, just over 12 km away. And why does the lock often disappear? 92nd-MajorBug Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 The bandit is cold (going away from you) at mach 1, your altitude is low, and your speed is low. If you shoot and the bandit maintains all its flight parameters, you will see that you were indeed not in range. 92nd Kodiak Air Force - May the Greuh be with you
ac5 Posted May 1, 2023 Author Posted May 1, 2023 Well, I did shoot and the bandit was destroyed, no problem with that, I have done it many times. Still, even with an IL-76, the radar looses very often the lock, and the shoot message appears, yes, but way into visual range, and shortly. I meant the AIM-120 AMRAAM's could do better than that.... In any case, it was not like this about a year ago. Possibly it was wrong then. I will try with the sparrows.
