Tomcatter87 Posted May 2, 2023 Posted May 2, 2023 (edited) Dear Heatblur-Team, I noticed that the ejection sequence / animation in both F-14 variants is bugged. Pilot and RIO eject at the same moment, and if you watch closely, they even go through the fuselage. See attached video. IronMike Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 (edited) It's really not (we get that every now and then), the difference is iirc 0.4 seconds and with no chute physics really, it looks like simulatenous, but isn't. However the animation and going through the fuselage does seem weird, but that is on DCS side, not us unfortunately (I just checked). If you would be so kind and report it to ED, it would be much appreciated. Thank you! In this frame (from your video) you can see that the RIO is gone before the pilot. null Edited May 3, 2023 by IronMike 1 Heatblur Simulations Please feel free to contact me anytime, either via PM here, on the forums, or via email through the contact form on our homepage. http://www.heatblur.com/ https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
Callsign JoNay Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 0.4s in a 60 frame/sec video should result in 24 frames where the RIO visibly ejected before the driver. In a 30 FPS video, it should be about 12 frames. I played the clip back in Sony Vegas. Sony Vegas uses a 30 frame per second counter, located in the bottom left of the attached images. The first frame where the RIO's head goes missing from the cockpit is at 3 seconds and frame 13. The first frame where the driver's head goes missing from the cockpit is at 3 seconds and frame 15. So there's only a two frame delay between the RIO and driver's ejection sequence when it should be more like twelve frames if 0.4 seconds is desired. 1
Tomcatter87 Posted May 4, 2023 Author Posted May 4, 2023 (edited) I've played the F-14 since day 1 and had quite a few ejections since then I'm quite certain that the delay between RIO and pilot has been longer some time ago. Nowadays you cannot feel any delay - we're about talking frames of a video here while in R/L you can almost say "potato" in between them. @IronMike - please take a look at it. I've attached a screenshot where you can clearly see that there is no separation at all between them. draconus Posted May 12, 2023 Posted May 12, 2023 Timings are ok, but they're still ejecting from the fuselage 3m behind and ride on the white smoke, so it seems the ejected pilot models are rendered like 3m behind. The smoke should come out from the bottom of the seat. 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
