Can someone explain any advantages to upgrading? My profiles are in .dat format which means reprogramming everything to .pro if I understand correctly. I am currently running 6.2.2.4 on Vista 64 and haven't had any problems. Thanks.

There are several reasons to update, IMHO.

 

Besides the increased stability, especially with Vista and 64bit is one of the major reasons.

Another one is, that you can program buttons a bit more flexible. You can now program the mode-selector as "buttons", too.

 

The best feature for me is the ability to create a SINGLE file to program all Saitek-Hardware. Stick, Throttle, Rudders, MFD, ThrottleQuadrant, you got it all in one file.

And then, you can now assign standard-profiles, that are automatically loaded.

If you're not having troubles with your current version, no reason to upgrade. There's one thing your version might not have had; the ability to map the right-shift (where previous version mapped "shift" and did not have a right/left potential). That's why I upgraded to the previous beta version.

 

I'm hoping this will solve the problem where the editor would crash unless I click the save button between every modification. Resize the columns, crash. Use mouse-wheel to scroll up and down, crash. For at least some of us the prior beta version was not stable at all, so far this new one seems better.

Could someone upload the 64bit version to Rapidshare or something similar? I have very unreliable internet. This combined with Saitek's crappy servers means I have wasted the last few days trying to get this file to finish.
