Hi,

I find that when I use the Vikhr or Rockets, the targeting reticle is offset to the left of my HUD centerline, Im forced to yaw right to bring the weapon reticle onto the skhval reticle to get fire permission. What am I doing wrong?

I've seen that happen a few times as well, though I never quite managed to figure out what was happening.

Does this happen to you all the time tho? I suspect it might be a case of overusing the seeker might cause it to go wonky in the same way you should not overuse your laser rangefinder (or else it'll burn out).

This is most likely due to yourself slipping to the side. See that the ball is centered at all times, then your reticle should be more or less centered as well.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

I think it is like Sobek said, plus my theory by wind.

Wait! I think I saw this in that Nicolas Cage movie, Fire Birds... Your dominant eye is the wrong one... you have to train yourself to use the other one! :smartass:

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Hopefully the suggestions in the earlier posts help get you straightened out!

I traced it back to the rudder not being trimmed to its center position.

Had the same problem, and the same solution that I had'nt centered the ball.. Not a big deal though I thinks, I've never missed a Vikhr because I slipped. Come to think of it, if one wants a big slip indicator on the HUD.. :P

What is this 'ball'?

Im new to black shark. Just figured out how to start up the engines and fly. I ve only just learned to use the skhval and vikhr and cannons.I ve got some basic idea on trimming. How do I center the ball? What is this ball?

This is basically what I do:

When I near the engagement area I slow down to a near hover.

I engage auto hover.( all 4 auto pilot buttons are on)( auto turn to target is off)

I turn on the skhval and lock up my target, turn on laser and turn on auto turn to target.

i then get the vikhr reticle skewed to the left. Im forced to yaw right to bring the vikhr reticle over the target. I then get launch permission and fire.

1 out of 3 times the missile goes stupid and falls to the ground.

What am I doing wrong?

Turn laser on first and then engage target.

'Ball' at the bottom of the ADI - Look for it......You cannot miss it ;)

Center it by Rudder Input.
