cmbaviator Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Hello guys, finished mounting my new PC with a 13900ks and RTX 3090. Having a good bin thanks to KS, I manage to under volt it and under full load, the vcore is at 1.2V. i was wondering if DCS benefits from the E-cores ? So that I can maybe disable 4 or 8 e cores for less power consumption and less heat thanks
petsild Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 Be sure to disable all e-cores directly in the bios. Everything will be smoother with higher fps and lower consumption. MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4, Kingston 3600 MHz 64 Gb, i5 12600K, Gigabyte RTX 4090, Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus,VKB NXT Premium.
SharpeXB Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 (edited) Of course if you plan on using your machine for anything other than DCS it might be a good idea to leave the cores as they are. I’m using a 13900K and I already get 115 FPS (on a monitor) even in MP running ST. My temps are pretty low with a decent cooler and an overclock of 6.2GHz. I’m not sure how much more performance you need or will get. I don’t know if DCS MT even uses all 8 P cores. Go-Go Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 I've been messing with settings for months. Watched a YouTube video on DCS 2.9 edge. A lot of info...But 1 thing I pulled out was Process Lasso. Selected "disabled efficiency mode always" disables all e-cores and selected "power mode to max". Smoothed it all out at 90fps Syria 200ft over big ass city in instant action free flight F18, F16, A10II, and Spitfire...HAGS and game mode off. (BTW process lasso will show you active cores and Hags made the cores have low activity.) I used dlss and sharpening all the way up, for some reason lowering the sharpening on dcs settings caused frame drops. I9 14900kf, 4080, 32gb ddr5 5600 m.2 and HP Reverb G2. What a pain in the ass. 1
