I’m hoping that some one with RL F-15E experience can help me out with this. Prior to engine start, the tower cannot be informed because the radios cannot be selected until after an engine has been started. I was under the impression that running the AMAD would also run the generators. Also with ground power selected and the external power switch selected to normal, the aircraft power systems don’t seem to be functioning. Do I have this completely wrong or is this something that hasn’t been implemented yet?

No, the generators came on-line when their engine reaches around 56% rpm.

The aircraft buses are energized by external power, except buses which furnish power to systems which do not have on-off control switches and/or require cooling air. Power can be applied to these buses by the use of ground power switches on the ground power panel on the left console.

Unfortunately it seems that the ground power panel is not yet fully simulated, so it is not yet possible to use the radios before starting one of the engines.

Radio 1 can work under emergency gen power, but is disabled with the JFS running.  Unless information as far as DCS is concerned, just gee-wiz info  🙂

IRL, would not be common to contact tower before starting anyway.  That's just a weird DCS implementation of comms IMO.
