ZoomBoy27 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 When I start flying, before I activate my weapons, there's a line on the HUD that can be used for Trimming and Hovering When I activate my weapons, the Trimming guide is gone from the HUD How do I get it back?? I've turned off the Master-Arm Switch, but it doesn't return ZoomBoy My Flight Sims Page - Link to My Blog - Sims and Things - DCS Stuff++ - Up-to-Speed Guides to the old Lockon A10A and Su-25T - Some missions [needs update]

mvsgas Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Try using the HSI. IIRC, while in hover mode, the HSI will have a cross in the center like ILS symbology. You can used that to know if you are drifting without having to reset you weapons systems or sensors. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

sobek Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Try not to concentrate on the hud symbology though, rather look at the ground, it's in fact the best hovering indicator there is ;) Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

ARM505 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Ground = best, but the view of the ground from the Ka50's cockpit is, by helo standards, pretty dismal, and hovering at altitude (if you needed to do it for some strange reason) also means you need to be at least familiar with the position needles when the HUD indication isn't available.
AlphaInfinity Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Ground = best, but the view of the ground from the Ka50's cockpit is, by helo standards, pretty dismal, and hovering at altitude (if you needed to do it for some strange reason) also means you need to be at least familiar with the position needles when the HUD indication isn't available. That is why I get into position first before engaging the different targeting modes. The HUD representation is very intuitive for hovering.
