Game crashing in Normandy map

Hey guys!

Since last update in June, the game has been crashing on me: everytime it's the same mission (Operation Epsom, mission 7) in Normandy. I hoped that today's update could have solved the issue, but it just took the game longer to crash.

I mostly experienced this using the MT exe, but it happens with the ST one, too, so, I'm posting in here, even though the log I'm attaching is from the MT version.

I'm playing in VR, I have an Oculus Rift S, system is a Ryzen 7 2700 X, 32 GB of 3200MT RAM (G.Skills Ripjaws V), GTX 1070 (yeah, I know!), 2 SSD, one 500 GB 970 Evo for the OS and a dedicated 2 TB 980 Pro for DCS, Win10 Pro 64 bit 21H2 (build 19044), DX 12.

If you need other info or logs, just ask. Please help, I have no idea what's going on and how to solve it, and playing IL-2 it's just not the same thing!

Hey Silverdevil,

thank you for your answer. A couple of question:

1) how big should the pagefile be?

2) when you say "disable hot plug", you mean I should disable a system option, a game option, or what? If it's a option to disable, where do I find it?

3) How can I see what USB device disconnected? How can I track the actual piece of hardware moving from that VID code I see in there?

Thank you again!

Hey @silverdevil!

Thank you again for your help. I couldn't exactly zero in on the issue, but I think it is something that has to do with USB devices and their power supply. When I bought the Rift S, it gave problems of disconnections, so I bought a powered USB hub and connected everything else but the visor to it; other than with DCS, I could use the Rift S without problems. Yesterday I switched the mouse and visor connection, connecting the former directly to the motherboard and the latter to the hub, and finally no more CTD while playing DCS.

Not sure if that has solved the issue for good, to be on the safe side I added a 32 GB pagefile; in any case, I'll keep testing and see what happens.

Thank you again!

good to hear. glad to help. i too have a powered hub. though i only have my three controllers on it. i do not use VR. you definitely need to have the "disable hotplug" option set.

if you have other issues, return and post a new topic with the latest dcs.log. good luck and clear skies.
