Takeoff assistance always at 100

It may have been reported before, but I can't get the takeoff assistance to 0.

I select 0 in the special options menu, but when I jump on the plane, the assist seems to return to 100.

Assistance for some reason can be forced in the mission itself. So the question is, do you only experience it with certain, specific missions or with all missions you fly?

Thanks.

I have been testing takeoff from the main missions (El Canal, Sinai...)... and the takeoff assistance is be forced.

I'm going to try a mission in the editor and report again.

Correct, I have been using the mission editor and indeed, takeoff assistance is NOT activated. The problem is in several missions that leave it by default at 100%

It's probably a mistake by the mission maker. Should be reported to the relevant team, and should be set as optional obviously.

Nice catch!

I fail to see where you can force Takeoff Assistance in ME. Please enlighten me!

That is the thing. There is no option in the ME where you can force it on or off. I suspect it is the same as the sneaky random failures issue, where it is enabled in the mission.lua itself, which is in the mission.miz.

I found that the "Options" file which is included in the .miz file contains a snapshot of the "Options.lua" settings at the time when you last saved the mission. Example: I found that my copy of the "Takeoff.miz" for the Anton had the parameter "assistance" (which is Takeoff Assistance) set to 100%.
As I have experienced several cases where some of my options settings (especially the takeoff assistance) were changed after an update, a lot of my missions could contain unwanted option values.
Now there is an option under Options/Gameplay in the bottom right of the page, labelled "Presets/No force from mission, use mine". I have now ticked this option, hoping that it will prevent this scenario. And hoping of course, that this one won't be overridden by the mission 🤣
