Checkmate Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 All cockpit Annunciator lights to dim to read. How come during testing of the patch just released did no tester notice that the all the cockpit Annunciator lights are all two dim during the day time. I know this will never get fixed anytime soon, and I was so looking for just one aircraft to learn to fly where I did not have to wait a life time for one simple bug fix. This should have been notice before the patch release. Going on the past bug fixes thing like this take several year to fix. It look so nice last week. Now I'm going to have shelve the F-15E hope it gets fixed some day.

Really? .. shelve it because the annunciators are dim? ... wonder how you would react to a real serious bug 4 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
Timghetta Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 I did not change anything with the lights, something changed with the sim itself. I don't know what it is. 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] We take the Metal and bring it to Mesh
Checkmate Posted August 19, 2023 Author Posted August 19, 2023 (edited) Yes, it was an over reaction. Some of it just has to do with having to wait so many year for things to be fixed in this sim. But it looks like the problem may have been cuased by the F-15E turning all the cockpit lighs down because it thought it was night. I went onto the server at 8:00am and I could not even tell if the Master Caution light was on or the Canopy Open light was on. I tried 40 minute later at 8:40am and all the light were back to normal. The Gear and Flaps are little dimmer, but that was nothing compared to the other problem. Sorry for the over reachtion just a little tired of waiting for bug fixes and I was afraid if I could not tell if the Master Caution light was on that was just to dim. But all is well now. Also, moved Gamma from 1.8 to 2.0. Edited August 19, 2023 by Checkmate
Timghetta Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 Someone said something before with the lights, first internally within our team about the Master Mode lights seemed different, then yesterday another user mentioned about the lights and his concerned was narrowly focused on the Flap and Gear indicators, being too dim. I opted to adjust those brighter for him. I had added different lights for the NVG filters but they are extra lights that come on when the filters are installed while the original lights are hidden. Not changing the original lights strength, coding or textures. Hopefully this quick and dirty video can explain it better. I think i´ve found the origin of the "Dim Lights" issue. I´m using a mission template for training in my virtual squad for a long time, with different aircrafts and options. The F-15E lights intensity was normal until the last update, where i´ve found this dim issue, wondering why and driving me nuts. Then i´ve just deleted the F-15E flight and created another new airplane, and the issue gone away not thinking anymore about it. But reading this post maked me thinking about the special options tab with NVG and Filters equiped on the F-15E, and..... That´s the reason why you see the lights dimed. Before the patch checking on additional aircraft porperties boxes " Equip AN/AVS-9 NVG and NVG Filter" didn´t change anything on the lights intensity in daylight. But now, since the last patch if you check those boxes, then all the warning, caution, master mode lights get dimed/filtered to the bare min, even if the mission is in broad daylight, when i suppose it should dim the lights only when you put your NVG´s on. So that´s my discover and the reason why you see the lights issue. I hope this helps to fix the bug, if there is any, or maybe this is intended and pilots should not check those boxes if they are going to fly at day. But in my oppinion the lights intensity should change when you put your NVG´s on or when you activate the filters on the cockpit, not only because the boxes are checked. Imagine a mission starting just with the sunset with enough light to VFR but to much for the NVG´s and after that with less light you put the NVG´s on. Only at that moment the cockpit lights intensity should change. Edited August 19, 2023 by Esac_mirmidon 2 " You must think in russian.." Timghetta Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 (edited) The NVG filters when installed should physically block out the light even when goggles are not on. That's why we did it so when the filters are placed on the lights are automatically dimmed. They don't fly in daylight with them, due to IRL being pretty hard to see through the filters. Esac_mirmidon Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 I understand that, and i can live with it, but is in some sort, limiting your options, specially at dusk, when the sunlight is enough to not use NVG´s but in less than an hour you will need those. With the boxes checked you loose the option to determine when the filters are working. I could be wonderful to be able to activate the filters with an option in the radio menu, or just get activated when you put your NVG´s on. Just something to think about. Thanks for you kind replies. 1 " You must think in russian.." Timghetta Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 Exactly my thoughts as well. I wanted them where you can put them on/off while in the aircraft. I'll talk to guys to get a solution cause it will not be great if the mission starts during the dusk or ends at dawn and you can't see the lights. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] We take the Metal and bring it to Mesh
