Starting the Mirage - works 80% of the time, not always, doing same thing?

When I start the Mirage, I think I do the same thing (to Idle at 300+RPM and quick advance and pull back of the throttle).

This seems to work 80% of the time and sometimes it doesn't, with not other changes?

And if it doesn't light, is there any other way to try again without reslotting please?

Just set the throttle to idle (I key), between 300 and 600 RPM ideally. Do not advance it above idle as a normal praxis.

Does it work again for those who'd prefer to use their physical throttles instead of a keyboard?

For me it works everytime moving my throttle a bit for and back to idle. I usually also wait for more than 300 rpm. Even going to idle at 600 rpm works for a good startup.

Hi, can you please attach a track?

@fausete

Here you go. Engine was started with the throttle cut/idle switch at about 470-480 rpm. As you see, the throttle is at idle in the last view.

Mirage Coldstart.trk

And here's another using the "click on throttle" method

Mirage Coldstart 2.trk

In both cases outside air temp was -8. I wonder if that's an issue? I remember it was for the MI-24 Hind when it first came out.

Okay, the problem is that you keep the starter button pressed. You need to release it a second after pressing it or so, otherwise you risk damaging the starter.

Pretty sure they mention in the start up tutorial that it's supposed to only be pressed for two seconds or so. It's the same in the M2K.
