Iranian F1EQ Weapons

What weapons have the Iranians had available for their F1s?

I am designing some missions where the player flies the Mirage F1 for Iran in an off-the-rails adventure based on the off-the-rails events of 2018-2019 between the US and Iran.

Already what the F1 already has, but double bomb rack aswell and the 580gal fuel tank, Exocet, AS-30L, ATLIS Pod, and they added some Russian Weapons IIRC

Also they have a HUD with a doppler INS on the EQ-2/EQ-4, and a Mirage 2000C equivalent PCN on the EQ-5/EQ-6, with the EQ-6 having the Sherlock RWR

Did Iran ever obtain the French missiles?

Like Magic and S530F ? AFAIK they did, but then there was a ban IIRC because they went in war

Iran-Iraq War pics show French missiles loaded. Current pics are all no stores no pylons except for the occasional external tank, so no idea what they use currently.

Yea, I've seen Iraq with some cool loadouts but I have not seen Iran with much of anything except as you said fuel tanks

IIRC They used all their stock, also france Stopped making the S530F a while ago, so they don't really have weapons to use on that plane sadly

The Iraqis had pretty much whatever they wanted from the french. When the Mirages fled to Iran IDK what they took with them. In theory Iran has sidewinders (9J/P) so that would get you covered for the basic AAM's. But I doubt they copied the 530's at all.

These are my thoughts as well. I have heard of their use against a drug trafficking region near the Afghan border. But, I really don't know what ordnance they are dropping.

 

My idea is to design 6-7 missions in a short campaign where the player is allowed either the F-5 or the F1. Their mission is to inflict casualties in a flareup of tensions in 2019 where the US launches a half-cocked invasion that is so poorly planned it gives the Iranians more of opportunities than anticipate to inflict casualties on the US. This is meant to reflect a possible choice that one of the American leaders appeared ready to use at a point in history, but was in all likelihood doomed to fail. After 6-7 missions, it is meant to wrap up with both sides claiming victory.

 

It'll have intercept, escort and strike missions.

In that case I'd stick to US made ordnance for the F1, it carries both sidewinders and the various MkXX series of bombs as well as GBU's, which Iran did get some early GBU kits that they put to use during the iran/iraq war.

Yes, I'll have to do that. i am a little disppointed about not being able to use the R530 but that's just life. I guess it gives you a real apples to apples comparison between the F1 and the F-5.

afaik iran has been having a lot of trouble integrating much of anything they have on the F1, so far i've only been able to find pics and info of them flying with external fuel tanks taken from the F-5, im not aware of any other weapon they can carry from iranian inventory

theoretically it should still be able to carry anything the F1EQs carried in iraqi service, but most of those weapons are not currently present in iranian inventory

Good point. Can they even fire the DEFA cannon? Maybe they can make the ammo there.
