My DCS install is getting BIG….

It’s currently on my “best” drive - a 1TB WD Black M2 drive, but I only have one M2 socket on the MB

DCS takes about 50% of the storage space, with most of the rest taken by Steam…

Better to move Steam to a new Sata SSD and keep DCS on the M2…?

Or just go for a clean DCS OB install on a new SSD

Moving Steam likely to be more of a headache due to 10+ years of non- Steam DLC and mods 😕

I don’t have any advice for ya really but I do sympathise. My DCS is bordering on morbid obesity, partly my own fault but still.

Recently I bought an external 2tb SSD and plan to do a full re-installation of Windows then install DCS stable and OB on the drive. I got an identical drive for a mirror backup and fully expect to make another jumbled mess of those in no time.

I don’t have a lot on my Steam so don’t have that to worry about much.

Good luck with it all.

I need to do something to get more space… wanted to get the Huey in the 15yr sale, as well as Sinai.  The map alone would fill the drive😕

and that’s without a raft of interesting incoming modules: F-4E, Kola, F4U, F6F and many more🤔

The easiest way to upgrade storage  capacity without disturbing existing software, is to clone the drive with a tool like Acronis .. but how to clone when you only have a single M2 slot? … use an expansion card like this one:
